I think PD should definetly disable R tyres in all expert events. I just tried the 10 lap suzuka with Z06 and equiped it with R1 tyres..boring as hell! I had to try really hard to get it spinned.
Next one was the 550 FWD Fuji. Really challenging to drive integra with R ryres!
At first those new events looked great but R tyres kills them!
Unless we have Soft-Hard tyres with need to change them during races they really should be removed. N3-S3 tyres only in my opinion.
What dou you guys think?

You have made this suggestion in my thread.

here is what I replied....

Rash_182, That has got to be the silliest thing I have ever heard.

Why ban R class tyres from all Expert events. What happens when the full game appears and you are racing DTM's, Le Mans, & JTC cars? Do they run on stock tyres in real life? NO.

That sort of idea would take away the games motto, "The Real Driving Simulator".

This is on of the daftest things I have ever heard. Next we will have people asking to ban, certain classes of car, then specific cars. Tell you what, why not ban engines.

What next?

Yes you're right.R tyres stick to asphalt.I can't feel my car..Where ever when ever i can handle my car with R tyres. It's annoying and not my typo. All cars on ALL R tyres makes same car each other..There is no difference between cars. If you fun to drive don't choos R tyres.Yes We Don't Want R Tyres. Boycot I like it:)

thats why i mentioned Soft-Hard tyres

turn your TCS off

Oh boys it would be fun, if we could now get tyre-wear effect too! R-tyres ofcourse would be very slippery last few laps, while S-3 tyres still would have lot of grip.

Lets hope PD test that feature with us in near future. This ten lap race could be first move to that update...

Tyre wear is the answer. Not ban R tyres. Tyre wear will be part of the game so that makes this thread redundant.

That is because R1 tyres are boring as hell... but R2 & R3 are not, so this once again goes to show that tyre restrictions at the current state of GT5P generally take away the fun !
I assume this race has the tyre restriction in place as im on my holidays and cant check it therefore ...?
turn your TCS off
LMAO :sly:

i´m using sixaxis so every time i race pro i have TCS 1. I like Z06 alot and even with TCS on 1 its really great fun to drive it (on S2) But this really isnt good.

that's why you have to do your best to spin out. this has nothing to do with the R tires. turn TCS off and it is a hole different ball game

well but the thing is that the TCS didnt even need to work sometimes! (no red colour)

R tyres should only be used for race cars i.e. Tuned cars pushing 750 PP or more. I don't think they should be banned, just not used on slower cars.

i agree with the proposal. suzuka 650 has again become clio & california festival of R compound. R tyres should be for race cars or dedicated events only. this way I always have to compensate the morons who drive Rails and bashing me off the track with deliberate quit of the race.

+1
Maybe not ban them at all but at least allow them only fot high PP or tuned cars events.
Lets see what will happen around the end of january :D

Huh? Could you elaborate?

actually R2-R3 are even more boring :D

Well, ok it's just my experience that some "compounds" give less feedback than others, thus are more boring. For example I love the S1 & S3 tyres, for some reason the S2 just feel boring imo and i really suck at, yet it was PDs best ( and only) choice for time trials :indiff: ?

However I think race cars should be driven with R tyres, sport cars with S tyres and normal (stock) cars with N tyres, but maybe it's just me huh?

I am still confused. You said that R1 are boring but that the more grippy tyres are not, then say you love the S tyres?

I prefer N and S as well and think R tyres should be limited to race cars or at very least the PP points for them should be increased for applying them.

not a bad idea but since we dont have any pure race cars.. Really tyrewear would be the best option

I think there is nothing wrong with R (slick tires), I cant understand what you complaining about, if you want less grip use S tires, i run a car for suz 650pp that does 2.07s on s3's which is competitive enough, it wont be the fastest but it will do ok, why do you have your tcs1 if you think there is to much grip, your tires will not spin up out of every corner, not many cars have savage enough power to do so with slicks, and anyone that has been out for real in a car with a set on will really know there is that much grip! With the limit being 650pp if you want the arse out use S's, not that you could with TCS on anyways, you probably have ASM on too.

It all depends on : Do you want more grip ? (or) Do you want more power ?

Adding R tires adds a descent chunk of PP to your car , lessening your power band.
Using S tires gives you a little more room to play with as far as tuning goes , while at the same time losing a little bit more traction.

To me it does not matter , it's just a personal choice as far as how you want your car to perform.

try to drive a lap without TCS and the same amount of throttle as with TCS on.

OH, I didn't say I prefer the S over the R tyres, sorry for the confusion I just gave an example there, because i know for shure whenever the only choice for an event are S2 tyres ... I know I'm screwed! lol

And just in general, there maybe exeptions, but yes the more grippy the better, ask any racedriver.👍

i know it will make a difference. But even with tcs 1 the driving os S2 is challenging enough. (with Z06)
I remember when i bouht Prologue back in June or July and there was a 600pp Suzuka with S2 and it was really great! Then it got changed a bit to 650pp and with tyrechoice. So i chose R because i wanted to be competitive and it started to bore me after 2 races

EDIT: i do have a driving licence but i dont have any racing experience. But you must admit that driving Integra or other 550pp cars with R tyres is pretty dumb

There should be 2 different threads,Wheel/Pad,just like races.Physics are sooo different betwin these two controllers that its more than wanted.GT is made for wheel, thats why Forza2 probably feels better with pad?

Use the tyres you want with the car you want but don't ask to ban such or such tyres ....

And try to learn without TCS on

When i will have a wheel i will deffinetly do 👍 And as i said here before..maybe dont ban those tyres but at least i wand PD to think more about which tyres they will allow in which events
