theres people that think red bulls are fun
and then theres people that think they are nonsense
try to guess in wich category " @pilmat " falls, lol.

dont get me wrong i love redbull, heck its from my country lol, i just think the "car" is far from fun.
its cool to have it ingame but the emphasis on that "car" shouldnt be too big at all.
thats probably why i dont miss it at all, some of you guys probably drove it all day in gt5, i didnt.
apart from the actual challenges, i saw no point driving with it against less powered cars, again, just not fun at all.
Players do want fun in GT6 but they are not getting that. What PD has to do is to make GT6 game more appealing to players but sadly they are not doing that.

The Red Bull cars and the subsequent events are the best thing about GT6. Such an improvement over the Kaz-y Chase the Rabbit in 3 laps Carrier Mode.

You are so right, It is stupid to buy a Redbull or any other race car if you can not use it in GT6 and what is the logic in that.
It's like the F1 cars in GT5 where we can buy it from Ferrari but can't use it against other cars except their own.

Does the Red Bull Jr. not count for this conversation? You can de-tune it to run in some of the IA and S class races. The benefit here is that it doesn't have the top speed to keep up with the "normal" cars on the straights so you have to maintain the highest pace possible through any turns/twisties to make up for it. This means late braking, passing outside on hair-pins, and dodging slower cars through S sections or muli-apex turns. Makes for some very fun racing with LOTS of passing.

If not... What is the point of even owning the Redbull? I don't know about anyone else, but I got the game to drive cars I could not afford in real life... Part of the point in earning the Redbull is getting to "RACE IT". Duh.
Arcade mode. Single race. Pick RB X car and, correct me if i'm wrong, you'll be in a one make race with other X cars.

As for racing them against normal cars, this would be my reaction;

i actually belive that gt6 is one of the very few games were "restrictions" is actually fun, i belive it adds to gameplay.

you can race the red bulls in quick race anyways or the standart ones in the dedicated menue (get money?)
why woul you want to drive a red bull in sunday cup ? or any others "mission" race. freedom? really? cmon
What about for Endurance?

sorry I had to vote no, I understand not wanting restrictions in the game but to have a car that is so far and beyond reality there is entirely no point in racing it against anything other than other red bulls. If PD opened this up then that would mean I'd see this dang car driven by the AI in other races. I see enough of that stupid Chaparall 2J car. That car spoils so many classic car races, I just loath it with every fiber of my being. I'd totally give up on GT forever if the Red Bull showed up in random races. What's the point.

I just finished the Red Bull challenge last night and the last 2 events (Red Bull X race car and Red Bull X fan race car against Mr. Vettel) was by far the biggest waste of time in my GT 6 time so far. The handling is with my race wheel (Fanatec GT3) insane and the logic that a Mr. World Champion is not able to drive clean on the first lap through the first long 180deg corner in Suzuka so that you can pass him on the short straight and then he bumps you all the time for the rest of the 1 3/4 laps at every possibility is simply ridiculous. As you have to finish these Red Bull events for your career, I had to do them, but if they would had been voluntarily I would gladly have skipped them. So if anyone disliked the GT6 karts events (which are actually quite fun if you adjust to the clean driving and fine tune the gears principles) due to handling issues, then I recommend these Red Bull X races....

They should not be called race cars at all and if someone wants to have ''futuristic races'', than please PD create a special series for it. But please do not let those unreal cars race against some real fun race cars, so i have voted NO too.

I have done that. Lower the PP and make passes only possible because of the downforce, inside, outside, really hero-or-zero stuff. Fun when you pull it off.

People here seem to be arguing with kids who have no clue what to do in a video game unless the path has been marked with giant neon signs over it and has been laid using fluorescent purple bricks.

GT is a driving simulator aimed at car collectors. You can take any car and drive it on any circuit. Most people playing GT have fun simply taking a random car and hitting the Nurburgring with it, some don't even touch the career mode at all unless its to grind some credits to get more cars...

The Red Bull cars are just car fantasies, what if you could make a racecar without any rules to keep you in check. You can try it out when you want to but theres no career race to use it - It's not intended to be used in any career race!

This entire conversation is equivalent to someone asking why there are glass blocks in Minecraft when they serve no real purpose in the survival game, and that they should be removed or be TNT resistant.

Edit: Otherwise this might be interesting a Le Mans style race, where multiple classes are competing - Otherwise this would be a very bad idea.

Cool, why tailor to Fantasy cars in a Simulation?
I like some of the completely out there cars. To me, it's interesting to see what's possible instead of what is.

It's not so different from some of the concept cars we've had in the past is it? I mean, they're just models/maquettes that don't work (apart from "working concepts" of course) and a lot is changed on them to meet various regulations before they become working models/production cars.

I second this.

You would have to be a terribly insecure idiot to want to do a race in a redbull against a normal car. The fact that there is a redbull section in the career mode speaks to this. redbull vs redbull is a game. redbull vs normal car is a slaughter.

I don't know, I find it amusing to lap the field a couple times. I get a giggle out of it. It is a game after all. :D
