This is the FINAL race of the tournament which will be held at the famous and unforgettable le mans, also called circuit de la sarthe. we will be running the un-chicaned version. remember that you have to pick a different car than the one you used for the other races from your brand of choice.

the deadline for this race is wednesday, 8th november, 1900 cet.

we have agreed not to do any cheating but otherwise there are no rules, which means that you can pick the track order, the race mode (arcade or gt mode, single race or race event), the car setup, clean or dirty hotlapping, etcetera. please post your laptimes in this thread as soon as possible together with your car of choice, so everybody knows where he (she) stands and can try to do better.

I'll have to see if I can even keep up, I don't think so though.:(
I saved my Sauber for this race to, be cool to see who is better with it.:trouble:

yeah, should be cool
i wonder if gt mode is faster, but i cant make a good setup
but top speed would be more than 400km/h
(i tried the test course setting, more than 500km/h on the Hunaudières, but corners .. :nervous: ... no good idea :ouch: )

btw where are you from?
 
I don't know if the Sauber would be much faster in GT mode because yes it makes more horsepower,
but it also has more weight. But I know the R8 will be faster in GT mode because it makes
only about 900 horsepower in arcade mode where it makes 1112 hoserpower in GTmode.

That's 2 and-a-half seconds off the world record, not to mention Arcade mode being around 3+ seconds than GT Mode (Nitrous being a major contributor).

Maybe I'm doing something wrong or is the Sauber C9 is really that much faster than the BMW V12 Racer?..

In testing I have found that the BMW V12 is the slowest of the three race cars.
At lease at test course, I don't know about on the track. I would think that even
with less hoserpower the both the R8 and the Sauber that it would be faster than
the Sauber because the newer car seem to handle better than the older cars.
Also I did get a time today, but I want to see more times just in case I need to go faster.
 
Sorry. I know I haven't been on in a while, I got busy.
I have found that one: I not type right with fake nails on, and two: I'm getting
my butt kicked cause I can't get any faster then a 2:40.xxx.
I'll try tomorrow and see if I can get a little faster, but I don't know.
I'm pushing it as fast as I can get it to go.

VW W12 Nardo Concept: 2'41.346

Nitrous, shortcutting, you name it. Had a funny way to brake from the straight - flipped the car and full throttle.

Whoops. 3'41, not 2'41. But I improved meanwhile, a couple less offroad adventures, now at 2'56.924

Off now to finally earn a Minolta for cash, which I deserve after my 200-points run which ended with a Disk Read Error.

this was the final race of the first season of no rules brand racing. ben and i congratulate james with his victory. off course luke and tobe are congratulated too with their well-earned second and third podium spots.
i don't know about the participants but i thoroughly enjoyed stewarding this tournament and racing it as well. it was very refreshing to leave most of the rules as used in wrs aside, driving these beautiful tracks and picking cars out of a small collection.
about another season i cannot say anything yet. the number of no-shows have been considerable during this first round, and in my opinion a racing tournament is only real fun if a considerable group of drivers turn up every week and post their laptimes. but if there is enough interest it may come back, probably using cars from the uk only.

i wish you happy racing and thanks for competing in no rules brand racing.

I really hope you make another No Rules Racing, I had alot of fun.:drool:
 
I happy that I won, and I do have to thank GT Pro/luke for letting me win the 2nd
bonus race. Without that I would not have had the points I needed to win.
So to luke and all of the racer's:cheers:, and I hope there is another season
of the no rules brand racing because I found that it was fun not having to start
over every time I touched the dirt too much. And here is my picture.

Maybe No Rules series 2 should feature Japanese cars...
 
i'll post a no rules brand racing season 2 interest inquiry thread where you can leave your ideas on a second version of our tournament.
 
Apologies to all the participants in the no rules tournament, my save file in GT4 is unfortunitly corrupt, so I wont be racing until I get a copy of ARMAX, but congrats to the winners, hopefully next time Ill stand a better chance.
