No doubt it's due to hardware limitations. I'm sure they would have split screen replays if it was possible without making other sacrifices. Any game that pushes a console hardware to it's limits will have make sacrifices in order to have split screen.I wonder what would bring about something like this. Technical limitations, perhaps?
2-palyer split screen has become a thing of the past in modern racing games
2-palyer split screen has become a thing of the past in modern racing games, it is still good that it is still there in some way on GT5, but it's clear that PD is maybe starting to do what other producers have done and focus more on online gaming.
Disagree totally. Simply not true.
Pretty much this. I'll just add that it's not for the racing games, but for the every game. Same for LAN. Even new e-sports based games doesn't have it , SC2 for example.2-palyer split screen has become a thing of the past in modern racing games
For me this is probably going to be a bigger disappointment in terms of my actual use of Gran Turismo than any of the other "omissions", such as tracks and cars/premium cars.
2 player mode is, I think, an important part of Gran Turismo- and being able to watch back your race, to see if a move really was a bit dirty, or just to enjoy the close finish, has always been as entertaining as the actual split-screen racing itself, imo.
I am very glad that they have 2 player split screen - but the lack of a replay is very disappointing. I don't see why they can not have one full screen replay (it cant be any more technically demanding than 16 computer controlled cars). I suspect it was just cost cutting reasons for its omission - its not as if they haven't had enough time to get it in.
