They boasted with dupes, night version, rain version, tiny variation, reverse variation.. but still the bloody same place. Plus 3 dirt snow locations and the weird editor.

Let's take a look, without dupes:

01-Fuji Speedway
02-Suzuka Circuit
03-Daytona International Speedway
04-Tsukuba Circuit
05-Circuit de la Sarthe
06-Nürburgring
07-Nürburgring Nordschleife
08-Indianapolis Motorspeedway
09-Autodromo Nazionale Monza
10-Top Gear Test Track
11-Laguna Seca Raceway
12-Spa-Francoshamps

13-High Speed Ring
14-Cape Ring
15-Autumn Ring
16-Deep Forest Raceway
17-Grand Valley Speedway
18-Eiger Nordwand Track
19-Trial Mountain Circuit
20-London
21-Rome
22-Circuit de Madrid
23-Tokyo R246
24-Côte d’Azur
25-Special Stage Route 5
26-Clubman Stage Route 5
27-Special Stage Route 7
28-Kart Space

29-Eiger Nordwand Track
30-Toscana
31-Chamonix

+ Track Generator which is quite a buggy tool.

So, only 12 real life tracks, let's even say 13 with the fake Monaco. 3 of them were also in Prologue and get raced to death. So GT5 has only 10 new real life race tracks.

Counting Monaco as real we have 15 fictional tracks, 3 of them were in GT5p as well. So at the end of the day GT5 has only 22 new tracks + 3 dirt/locations (useless for a good amount of road and race cars) + a buggy Track Generator. So compared to the "1000 cars" label, let's say 900 because that's another boasted number, no, not enough tracks. Nobody is expecting a 1/1 ratio but at least 3 bloody tracks from GT4. And no, texture reskinning doesn't take a long.
maybe 13 real life tracks but still 31 tracks in total.
And to be honest I enjoy train mountain or deepforrest more than Fuji or Monza, not to mention the Ovals.

Offcourse I would love seatle or El Capitan too.
But to say there are to few tracks is not treu, in my opinion.

I'm just sayin'. Bitch about a game, go play something else and not bitch so those of us who enjoy the game can talk and play about it and not whine about not getting something else.

I'm quite loyal to GT5 these days by the way. It's got great potential.
Just because I would like a couple more tracks, that shouldn't ruin the game for you.

You need to sort your emotions out.

What "landmarks" are you speaking of?
I'm referring mainly to trackside objects scenery. In Course Maker tracks, except for the pit lane, they're essentially randomly and sparsely placed, without much attention for realism. As a result, not only course maker tracks look ugly, but are also more difficult to learn than other ones.

Also, I'm pretty sure a coherent flow is quite easy to get into a track, in fact very easy.
What about blind curves, pointless chicanes, elevation changes that make little sense, or that you can't really decide a track layout "theme" / type if not by luck?
This is what I'm referring about. Most Course Maker tracks that are not short or simple, feel too much artificially "random".

Let's take a look, without dupes:

Have a look at this list I made some time ago:

Just realized I did put "Test Course" in there, but it's not been confirmed yet. I feel it might appear soon, however.

can you point out to me were I used text speak?
If I did it was by accident, either a typing error or it might be because english is not my native language...

Have a look at this list I made some time ago:
- I don't have that "Test Course" Maybe the Japanese DLC is different, and I count Nurburgring and Nordschleife as 2 different tracks, yes they can be raced toghether. But they are not tiny variations as a "no chicane" or "rain" for Monza or High Speed Ring.
- Yes, we can count "Clubman Stage Route 5" and "Special Stage Route 5" as the same track.
- If you can please tell me more about that Test Course I only saw it on videos.

As I mentioned, I made that list some time ago, and for some reason (since it appeared in the Spec II intro video) I put it in the list and forgot to remove it. If it will be available it will most likely be DLC (free or paid, I don't know). If you are not ok with this, mentally remove that from the list, which is not supposed to be anything official, just something to quickly and efficiently recap what tracks are supposed to be in the game.

With the same reasoning, Cape Ring should be 2 different tracks too (outside + inside + connecting roads). But they're part of the same, bigger track/venue. So are the "GP" and the "Nordschleife" portions of Nuerburgring.
Eiger is an exception as there's a distinction between road courses and dirt courses. A bit like El Capitan and Cathedral Rocks Trail in GT4/PSP. Or also old and new (Tilke) Fuji Speedway (similar layout, but essentially completely different tracks).

Tracks? My favorite part with tracks is the Rally Tracks.
Has anyone ever counted the Rally Cars? i havent but there are lot of rally cars.

Now, how many dirt tracks do we have? let me see.... Toscana, Elger and...... thats about it, plus the chamonix ....and the custom ones (yeah right).

Crappy GT5 Xmas for me then.

Not bothered about more cars. Not buying any more, unless they are special. Historic formula cars etc.
I wish PD would say earlier, that there will be no tracks, to avoid disappointment.

Maybe by February we will get a few tracks. Old GT tracks would do.
Back to Iracing until the next DLC then.

Happy XMas & New Year:)

No kidding. Just give us tracks PD. Stop trying to rob loyal customers.

You HAVE the tracks PD, stop trying to rob us.

What a joke of an update. Get some American developers in there.

At least SOME Americans know a thing or two about discipline when it comes to delivering content.

I'd choose more real world tracks and tracks from previous GT games over a randomized track maker any day.

Really!!! Who cares about the old GT tracks they all sucked to be honest. I would much rather see real world tracks like Brands Hatch, Yas Marina Circuit, Bathurst (Mount Paranorma), Silverstone, Sebring, LimeRock, Mid-Ohio tracks like that. Not New York or Seattle or those horrible tracks

With all the due respect Cape Ring, whatever the version is, it's all the same ****. It's not worth enough considering multiple layouts overthere, it's a lame track honestly. I made the Nurburgring/Nordschleife expeption because of the lenght and blazon of Nordschleife itself, and also because F1 teams run at the Nurburgring. So yes, they are like 2 different tracks. Anyway this thread is taking the wrong direction, it's not really about considering 29 30 or 31 total tracks, it's about realizing they are not enough compared to the amount of cars.

Well, city courses aren't exactly the best for racing, but tracks like Midfield, Apricot Hill, and Red Rock Valley are pretty good race tracks as they have their share of chicanes, high speed turns, and really good straightaways. There is no reason for them to just throw them to the garbage! They've got to return.

Tracks without accompanying events, especially ones like last time that you could easily play for free in other people's lobbies, are pure fail as far as I'm concerned. You're essentially paying to use them in time trials and one make races at that point.

That'd be better than nothing. Even now, GT5 is not half what many of us expected it to be but it's still Gran Turismo. I'll take any add-ons, patches and updates as improvements, not the icing on the cake.

Also, I'm assuming if there were seasonal events for it, everyone would probably still be able to participate from it, even if they didn't buy it. If there can be a seasonal event with the Kart Space track, then I don't see why they can't at least make an event with the DLC track Spa, and perhaps future ones if any.

But really, a track does open up to a lot of things. Personally, it's a new playground for me since I drift around on it too. That with new scenery to take pictures or videos on. Definitely though, there needs to be events that goes with it.

I never thought a GT game would have subpar events. It's like a last moment touch to the game, after realizing they have a solid due date on the game from Sony yelling at them. They could at least make B-Spec races different. Instead, they're the exact replica of the A-Spec events, with a bunch more laps on them.

Nothing doesn't come with an asking price, so one has to wonder if in fact it would be better than nothing relative to what they want for it. They want my money, they'd best present a better value proposition than "Uh, you can do time trials". The bloody paint packs are a more compelling deal.
