I just got my first racing wheel and it's the DFGT.

I'm trying to get used to it. Is that normal when moving from a controller?

When I'm coming out of a turn, the wheel tries to correct all by itself it seems like, is that normal too? Because it seems to oversteer too much and then I spin out when I try to make it go on my own course.

EDIT: On the straightaways it goes back and forth as well.

Mine does this as well and from what I have read totally normal. I don't get why on a dead straight away the wheel wiggles unless you are driving insanely fast but it's a minor quibble. Use it for a few hours and you'll be beating your old lap times by several seconds. Plus it's so much more fun!

Just hold it firm, that one really never bothered me when I first got it. I just treated it how I held my wheel while driving. In no time, you'll be playing force feedback at 10.

All normal. The straight woble though is a bit overdone. if you drive a car on a straight flat road and let go of the wheel it will drive in a line. In most Driving games however the wheel turns itself and the car crashes. I think its something to do with giving force feedback feeling in a straight line.

Give your new wheel a week and you wont wanna ever go back to a "pad".

You didnt say if you have a firm rig to mount the wheel onto. Wheels are useless and less fixed down fast!

... wait where can i change the feedback setting?!?!?

Go to your home screen (where you see A, B spec, garage, licences and etc)

On your lower left click "my home settings" the one above the save button that looks like the record button on cameras.

Once clicked, go to options.

Scroll down to "Steering Controllers" click the first option " Steering Settings"

You should see, three options "Steering type", "Power-Assited Steering"
and "Feedback Strength"

First option, turn it into simulation. I know it has no affect on your wheel but still.

Second option, turn it off.

Last option, Feedback Strength, set it as much as you want or less. (I think, I remember that the default was 5)

Also if you really want more control over your wheel and the car in game. Turn all aids off except for ABS at 1.

Hope it helps!

So its best to leave power steering off on the settings then?
Also my current FFB is on 3, What are the advantages of increasing this?

Yes, I have power steering off in my DFGT settings.

As for the FFB, it is just user preference, you decide whether you want to increase it or keep it where it is. Increasing it just improves the simulation feeling, for me that is.
