Noob with a CSR wheel/pedals/shifter and a big Gt5 problem

Hello everyone, first post here

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find any help on the topic by searching.

I got a brand new CSR wheel/shifter/ elite pedals set and after a bit of forza and iracing without any problems and fantastic performance of the wheel I tried it tonight on GT5. What a mess.

It took me one hour just to manage to make the H shifter and the clutch work at all (maybe I'm just slow, mind you). After I finally managed to make them work, I cannot engage the clutch and shift unless I'm not pressing the gas at all. If i try when the gas is pressed, the gear goes back neutral and stays there, until i completely disengage the gas and repeat the operation. Of course it's extremely frustrating and unrealistic. I can't lift off the accelerator every single time i want to shift.

I'm sure there must be something I missed. Maybe a firmware update? Basically, the question is, how do I manage to make the CSR shifter and clutch work while the gas pedal is pressed? is it even possible?

Thanks.

Hi, have you calibrated your shifter? You need to recalibrate them the first time you use them.

Welcome... :)

It is not possible to shift while at full throttle in GT5.
You can get away with having the gas engaged just a little bit from 2nd gear and up, but going from 1st to 2nd you must have your foot completely off the pedal for some reason. I've tested this quite a few times with my G27, but not extensively. Maybe someone can clarify, but I can tell you that speed shifting (at full throttle) is not happenning in GT5:lol:

Yeah power shifting is not possible in GT5. You only need to let of the gas a little bit though when changing in the higher gears. It takes practice to get used to it but you'll soon get the hang of it.

If you do find yourself mis-shifting at a crucial point in a race quickly switch to the paddles then go back to the H shifter at the next cornner.

Zenkis14 and mika haka are correct. I would try it out in a bunch of offline races before you go online. Nothing is worse than losing a drag to a corner to be beat by the GT5 shifting system.
