Damn im pissed, RRRRRRRRRR, I turned on GT4 this afternoon and the autoload comes up and it said "Load has Failed" cancel or retry. i'm like WTF? I turn it off try it again and same thing happens. I try it somemore times and same things. After fiddling around with some things i tryed again and samething. So i take the POS PS2 lift it above my head drop the thing and start stomping the crap out of it.No damage. I have read about other guys on here turning it off while loading and the same thing happened to them. But i havent done any of that. I ALWAYS make sure it is done loading before i turn it off and I NEVER EVER take out the memory card. I also NEVER take the disk out until i turn it off and restart it.The game has never frozen or anything an i was playing the game the day before and it was fine. My biggest loss it that I had hundred of millions of credits and like 200 cars. I was also like 70% done and i had done the nurburgring 24 hours in a-spec. I was hopping I could complete the game soon.As for right now the game is as is and i havent restarted the game hopping you guys could help me. Although i have a feeling that i'm gonna have to restart it 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 👎

well, your PS2 is junked now since you found it appropriate to drop it and stomp on it

[edited by moderator] Language please.....

If you turn off the game in the middle of a race it will corrupt your save...or turn it off any time it is autosaving. It finds ways to screw you over.

Never done any of that, The only time i turn it off is at the main menu

It doesn't corrupt it'self theres always a reason, either you or someone else has done something to mess with the memory card or GT4.

I turn mine off in the middle of races all the time and no problems here. :odd:

I might stop it now though... :nervous:

the scientific thing to do would be to try to load off of memcard slot 2, if it fails... try copying the save to another card in the bios... if that fails, its knackerd.

OUCH... Did you do some driving missions by any chance?

Sometimes old PS2s have trouble loading GT4
funny... heard that about the slimline ones.

anyhow, if you dropped it (on to the bed or not) and stomped on it i'd sugest 2 things:

1. buy a new ps2 as you have prolly royaly fkuced it now. :dunce:
2. get some friggin anger management d00d! I am really! 👎

The same thing happened to me too two weeks before. I had to delete my old file which was 24.8% done. But lucky me, I'm actually doing better on the licenses and I'm getting much more A-spec points. So get it over with and restart the game. 👍

This never happend to me, because i've never did any of the above posts have done.
So i've decided to just restart my game save, i have done 30% already and my A-Spec points are really low. Ever since i joined the Weekly Race Series, i feel i can do much better than my old save.
:)

Tip about computer based electronics, they dont respond well to being stomped on (on the bed or not) any sharp blows to the unit can do an unknown amount of damage. Physically attacking your ps2 is not going to fix the problem or make anything work.

Though I do have a friend with a similar amount of anger levels. But he threw his ds2 at the TV screen (suprisingly it didnt smash / explode) but the black plastic from the controller did leave a mark on the screen that (i think) is still there today.

I just wonder why you stomped your PS2, the problem seems to have been about the memory card?

I moved about a month ago and did the whole 'pack everything up' (i.e. remove mem cards, controlers, power cords etc.)

When I got to my new place and plugged everything back in and went to load GT4 it was like 'nothing on mem card'

I tried swaping cards/slots (I've got 2 cards) and still nothing, not even in browser mode.

Zero files. Zip. Nada.

I'm thinking - 'Oh great, I've lost *every* game save I have' - I didn't even want to think about the number of hours that hat apparently just vaporized.

But I powered everything down, pulled out cards, put in cards, etc. and then suddenly, as if by magic, everything was there.

To this day I don't know what happened or why, but I was *very* happy to see that I hadn't just lost everything. I too, was on the verge of stomping something...it was a devestating feeling.

Terribly sorry bud, but I hope you didn't kill your PS2 in the process of stomping it - while man hours can't be recovered, they can be duplicated - but a new PS2 is gonna cost ya...

Unless there is a forum member online who is a trained psychiatrist, I don't think anybody can help you with this....

ITS NOT A FRIGGING BIOS! its the browser screen. BIOS is Basic input output system last time i checked, not some crappy grey screen showing the memory cards :dunce:

*off topic* Crappy? I think it looks neat, it is rather slow though.

sorry, but people referring to it as a bios are WAAAY far from the truth. but i guess the Browser screen works nicely for what its meant to do

You're right Chinko. 👍
* even more off topic * I don't know about you guys, but after all these years I still think the PC BIOS-screens are scary. I mean, so many options to screw up your PC.. :nervous:

Yep, screw up your PC big time - even a format and a re-install won't fix what you've mucked around with in there :scared:

Not for beginners that's for sure...

Is there any way to prevent this kinda thing from happening, Cuz if it happens to ill be sure to let my rage out on the wrong person or thing!!

F.D.
