It was interesting. I assume that some kind of "rent time on a track" situation. It's definitely not an ordinary road. There were lots of motorcycles and just a few other cars. I found it interesting to see an SUV and then later a TOUR BUS (???) on the drive. Also, no one passed our camera car or the BMW but they sure did a lot of passing of other vehicles.

How do you know it was a Porsche? I mean, I assume so as well but it's difficult to tell. And I believe it was an M3, though I don't know that for sure either.

I'd be nervous about overtaking motorcycles like that. One mistake, by either party, is bad news for the biker.

Yeah, there were a few instances where I thought for sure they were going to clip a guy on a bike.

It's a Porsche 911 GT2 chasing a BMW M5 'ring taxi'. You pay for a lap in it and they are driven by a racing driver. The one in the video is being driven by Sabine Schmitz.

this guy is a total don, was he a professional? where did he drive?

and is it my imagination or does he hardly ever heel-toe?

and p.s. that ruf is SERIOUSLY fast. it even overtakes superbikes on straights!!! hehe

BTW the lap record for road cars at the Nuirburgring has been recently broken by a Radical SR3 Turbo. It got a lap record of 7minutes and 32 seconds! Still way off the lap recorded by a Porsche LM car years ago, and you can buy a video of that lap to gawp at!
I think some people called Duke Video do it.

sorry it was 7 mins 19 secs apparantly.

50-100mph (80-160kph)=4 seconds
70-150mph=(115approx-250kph)=12 SECONDS!

2.10 lateral G on road legal tyres.

A car that requires you to have a helmet on the streets ain't much of a street car. It's a toned down Le Mans racer with number plates.

umm yeah, a radical is hardly a real car. i dont acknowledge it.

that RUF is a seriously fast car though. love it.

Im not often there because I have to work and on weekends you can't drive because the ring is full of cars. But I'm often at Spa or Hockenheim. Or when the Pistenclub (my father is member in) has rented the track.

If I were you, I would go to the ring. Because there are more cars (VW Golf, Porsche Turbo, Viper, Opel Manta, you can't imagine) and the whole 24 hours there's party. In the night there are huge fires around the track and people have a barbecue and so on. This year the was a Porsche (I think 928) with green laser in the cockpit, like disco. It's a huge attraction.

heh i used to be like that, until i went to university and found out that there isn't a street around it that doesn't have at least ONE amg on it. c32, e55, s55, cl55, clk55 (that sounds pretty nice). in fact, most streets have a ferrari or porsche on it. if the car doesn't cost over £100k i don't even give it a second glance, thats how picky i am heh. but i'll always stop for a skyline (or something else that's rare)
