Here's a challenge for you. Can you beat the lap record for the Nürburgring Nordschiefe?

The record is 6:48 set by a Radical SR8LM. Any car can be used that isn't a race car (that includes RM cars), and tuning is unlimited. Post with your car, time and tuning details and I'll put them on a leaderboard. There's also a category for specialist cars such as the Zonda R (try to beat 6:47); and a race car category where the record to beat is 6:11.

Oh, one more thing, it's highly advisable that you choose the Nordschliefe without time and weather change, as you don't want any wet weather and sudden darkness ruining your laps. Good luck!

I did a 6:10 a while back in a stock Zonda R, I don't think it was a great lap either, i'm sure some guys will come in with some 5:xx times. Did a 6:40 in a stock Mclaren F1 on sports soft tyres. Nurburgring for me is too long to worry about setting fast laps, the ammount of time needed to put together a perfect lap is just unrealistic for my gaming time/skill level.

The record is 6:13 set by a Pagani Zonda R in 2010. Any car can be used that isn't a race car (that includes RM cars), and tuning is unlimited. Post with your car, time and tuning details and I'll put them on a leaderboard.

The records actually 6:47 :P but yeah i can beat it with my FULLY tuned GT-R Spec V or a Le Mans, Zonda R, etc..

6:10???holllyy *****!!i only managed 6:32 and i dont think i can do better.even if i extremely push it 6:25,6:20 maybe but not 6:10 :drool::drool::drool:

p/s : did it with DS3 & stock racing hard

Production car record isnt the zonda r at all. The real production car record is the Radical SR8 LM at 6'48 as the zonda (and FXX) arent production cars and both ran on slicks and are not road legal but the radical is.

But GT5 will be faster than real life

Bellof's ultimate lap record is 6'11

OK, thanks to the guys here. Everything's been completely changed, the Zonda R is no longer eligible and the record has been set back to 6:48. However, I'll be creating a new category for specialist cars such as the Zonda R and race cars.

Beating the record with race tuned road cars in the real world is exactly the same classification as beating it with a Zonda R. If you're going to use a road car then it should be stock and running on sports tyres. Racing Soft tyres have far too much grip even when compared to real soft racing slicks, and for that reason i would say they are unrealistic when going for the racing car lap record, racing hards would be where it's at.

A few cars however can probably beat the stock time easily if on sports softs, so maybe road cars should be restricted to sports hards. I know the stock Mclaren F1, Veyron and perhaps a few other cars will easily beat 6:48 if on sports softs. The reality is that in GT5 we can jump over curbs, run much wider and our tyres have more grip than in the real world, so it's not hard to figure out why it's so easy to beat those records, but if you run a clean lap with no curb bouncing or running wide on to the grass, using the right tyres then you will actually have a challenge on your hands.

Also lastly "RM" Cars are race cars, they gain massive performance gains from the modification in terms of aerodynamics and weight, a Corvette ZR1 race modded will see the times getting ridiculous. Another car that should be classed as a race car is the Mazda Furai, it may not have race car colours but that is an LMP level racing car.

I mean all this in relation to challenging the real world record times, rather than as towards leaderboard times.
