Ive almost completely finished the game, with a question about something-

What car would you prefer to use for the "NORMAL CARS ONLY" Races? Example:Trial Mountain Endurance and Polyphony Digital

I prefer to not have to change my tires every 4 laps, and was wondering who here has completed the Trial Mountain Endurance and or Polyphony Digital? Gimme suggestions

For those of you wondering, Normal cars only means no tuning, some cars come stock with tunned parts, and you cannot use them in these races, Examples of this would be the C5R, ZZII, etc......

Try the Toyota TS020 Road car or the Speed 12 if you want to wipe the floor with the AI, an Integra Type R is quite a challenge from what I hear

Normal car means normal car, only change allowed is tyres

na, bullocks, never!

make it a challenge, i used the rx8 and had a ball! It was awesome because the 350Z was slightly difficult to beat :D

Yeah use a car that just has the edge over everybody else. It's always fun for a challenge otherwise you just fall asleep halfway through the race.

Elise 190, Tommy Kaira ZZS, RUF RGT, Lancer EVo VI GSR. Throw T2 tirs and an oil change in any of these, and you shouldn't have a problem.

The RGT can go twenty laps without pitting. The ZZs and Elise can go near 30.

I additionally wanted to note that the ZZII can't enter the PD cup, as it's considered a race car, not a normal car.

As for what I enjoyed running it in, was the Esprit V8 SE, right from the dealership. I've also run it in the TVR Speed Six. Either of the Zonda cars will do it nicely.

I originally noted that the ZZII cant enter these races.....But Man, That Speed 12 is something else!

I had no idea it was that fast BONE STOCK! And the sound it makes! So unique! Although I cant say much about the TS020 Road car yet, not to excited about another 100 laps at Tokyo.....But well see!

Spell my name correctly first, it isnt that hard:rolleyes:

And I did mention the Integra Type R for a challenge, did you read what I posted?:banghead:

What about the Fiat?

jokes aside an EVO would be good fun, an elise sounds like a challenge 👍

To add to what Der Alta is saying about the RUF, I'm currently running the PD cup in a beautiful cranberry RGT. I have T4's on it and have been able to run a 1-pit schedule at Midfield Reverse. And I'm running steadily below 1'20.xxx.
As for the TS020 Toyota. The PD cup would be boring in that thing.
By lap 6 you'd have lapped everything on the track. I want to win. I'm not into decimation (anymore).
I've run various races in the Elise. It's fast enough, and nimble enough tho win individual races on a "no-pit" schedule.
I don't know if I'm fast enough to successfully campaign it thru the entire series, what with the AI somehow getting faster after the halfway point of the series.

I had a ball with the Mustang. It was plenty of car everywhere except R246, where the Japanese boys get a most unfair home-court advantage in most series.

Well this is interesting... a day after I start racing normal cars for the fun of it, I end up noticing this thread. How nice.

Last night I ran apricott hill reverse with a stock 22b. Loved the race. Im planning on starting it up again tonight. If I was gonna use something different than the 22b, a list of possible cars might read as follows.
Z, Rx8, Elise190, rgt, viper gts, vette, vette gs, Z28, nsx, rx7, supra, skyline r34, lotus 350... yawn... Im not really feelin this now. Basically, it's just a matter of your over kill.

I personally love to race with stuff that can still win without really good laps, but is never a total over kill... hence the 22b.

Good luck. Later.

btw, last night's apricott hill 20 lapper was easy on slicks and 1, 8th lap pit. (ran 12 laps to finish with tires still 👍 )

Go Kents, I highly recommend the RGT "strait out of the box". Either Zonda, or the two big Lotus' in the same way. I tried this format with the Viper, but it ate tires up in three laps, and with that pit schedule it was too much.

A very fun one was the TVR Speed Six "Strait out of the box". No oil change or tires. Jsut run as is from the dealership. You've got plenty of power, but trying to manage tire wear is a handful and a half.

I've also heard the Shelby Cobra is a good one for this race.

My three favorite "normal cars" are;

Subaru Imprezza WRX STI - J
The Middle RUF (the RR one)
The Cobra (with all the TC and ABS off)

However the Tommy Kiara ZZII is pretty damn good.

The Astom MArtin Vanquish would rule too if the transmission gear ratio wasn't so high.

I'm currently running it in the RGT on T4's.
Yes, I'm pitting every 7-10 laps.
But, I've been following Alex's recommendation's on braking early, and accelerating easy out of the corners.
and I probably could cut back to an every 5 lap pit schedule, and still walk away with the series quite easily.

Actually now that I think about it, you can win ANY "normal" car race/series with either the Jaguar XJ220 or either Pagani Zonda.

But you will win by destroying the competition, what is the fun in that. Take a car under HP and win by skills.
