i was just wondering if my experience is the same as that of others- are you all finding that the days of double-digit fields where sometimes half or more are tagged drivers are now just a memory?

i figured maybe since there is a wider variety of events available now, people are just spread thin across all of them, and i am ready to settle for that until the next event updates if need be. but, i thought i would check in with you guys in case i am just missing the events with bigger draw. i have tried fuji 800, suzuka 750, and suzuka ferrari at :00, :15, etc. and usually had less than 10 players (often less than 5) and not much of the fast and familiar names that i recall battling on fuji and suzuka from a month or two ago.

:guilty:

I think people are getting bored with lack of variety, particularly track-wise.
We pretty much only race on two tracks.

i hear ya man but i thought there really seemed to be a steep dropoff after the latest update, and i figured if loss of interest was the cause then it would have manifested much more gradually. not to mention that i refuse to believe that the online racing community will ever cease to grow. :sly::sly:

Yep pure bordem, either Fuji or Suzuka.

HSR 800PP was my original source of income as I was a podium average so money!
its gone now...

I would hope for a nice eiger event

or better yet a new track

Talking to various people , it appears to me that people are kind of fed up with these last couple of updated events PD threw at us , people are wanting more of the lower pp events , so all makes of cars have a chance to shine.People are just not playing the game as much as they used to because of this , again this is from what I am hearing from players and friends.

Yes I to have noticed that the online competition is...slowing.
I hope it picks up shortly I race predominently on Fuji 800PP lately and have found very few tagged driver's.
Peace,👍

You could also say that there are too many competitions and GTP competitors are being spread too thinly.

When the race events started, there was one time for every race. 0, 15, 30 etc

Now we have a race at Suzuka at 00, 02, 03, 04 & 05. So that's GTP competitors divided by 5 right away.

I have also noticed that the online races have dropped off in competiton, so now I mainly try and give myself a challenge in time trial by trying to get a high ranking for that track.

While I think there are less people online, most likely as a direct result of boredom from similar events, I haven't found I'm in smaller grid races unless it takes me too long to connect. I've just drive the ferrari event & usually i always have at least 9 or so cars but most of the time its 11 or 12. Its pretty much up to racing at the right time (time zone wise) & hitting the race button right when you have to, say at 00, 15, 30, 45. If you do that right, at least i find, i usually get full grids.

I can only speak for myself but IMO the online events have become boring& seems every track has a group of diehard core racers. Theres a group that race Daytona oval no matter if its even a beginner event group for HSR, Suzy group if there is not a good event for your track well you dont play as much. With the limited # of tracks in GT5P looks like we could have an online event for all of them, mayby one day.:)

I can see your point 👍 , however , I still believe in the fact of people are tired of the big pp events ( me being one of them ) where only certain cars can only win , once again , just by conversation with others and reading various threads in this forum , I believe the racers are desiring lower pp events at tracks like Suzuka ,Fuji , HSR.

I feel this can be resolved by the private room deal , the host can set up an event at any track, the pp he/she desires, and car restrictions for the event that is being run , gives everybody a fair shot at winning. I just get bored with having to run tuned Vettes,Amuse 2k's,Skylines,GTLM's,tuned Vipers. I want to run my Mini Coop,RSX,Alfa Berrera, stock Lotus Elise,at tracks like Suzuka and Hsr. with a 600 pp pro phys.,without having bully cars involved.

Ive only been racing online a few months, so I never got to try the lower pp events which a number of guys around here talk bout. Since everyone seems to want them, for the purpose mainly of greater competition is the theory that lower pp races = more cars with a chance of winning? I would have thought that at any PP limit, 2-3 cars will always be dominant over the rest but is this not the case with lower PP? I would too though like these lower PP events as it feels like a whole heap of cars in the game never get used because the online races always require you to use the faster, higher PP vehicles, which is a shame. I've been waiting for a pro event where i could use the 350z & be competitive but so far it seems only the beginner events offer this, which sucks.

Once you do a lower pp event with pro phys, you will get hooked , totally amazing at the variety of cars you will encounter out there, awesome times 👍

PD and SONY must be conducting a sadistic experiment to see how long it would take to drive away online racers. And then, they add the "Tanner Foust Challenge" today to the crusty list of online races.

350Z at London on N3 tires in a TT, oh boy, that's going to bring a flood of online racers. :(

I'm just pissed right now. I see the NEW on the NEWS icon, and it's a national TT comp! NOT AN UPDATE, but MORE TT's!!!!! UUUUUUG

Gee thats disappointing :( surely they must know people want different events/more variety & then instead they go and give us another time trial

Yes please PD bring back some lower PP events.
The track doesn't bother me I just want to see a larger variety of cars that race.
I used to love 650 PP (i think or was it 600 PP) at Fuji, it was always full and the variety of cars was good although after a while a particular car normally come out on top, even though alot of different cars could be used and still be competitive.

I want to see 300HP class race on Fuji or Suzuka, that would be awesome. I found that less powered cars are even more enjoyable after last update, so I can't see why there's no such event.

The best races I've ever had were at the 500 and 600 PP events, there was a lot of variety and I've seen the closest races there so I hope either we get private rooms or lower PP events get added, I believe that the game is starting to show it's age, I mean for the content I've surely played a lot more hours than the average game so it's natual that after some 6 months of pure racing things start to get a little slow.

Just curious.... but what is this attraction to lower PP events? I find them quite boring to be honest, because it seems so slow.... I need SPEED... but even in the high PP races you dont really get the sensation youre going 300 KPH... and this is even worse in the lower PP events... I do agree though, they need more variety in events to make the overall population happy.... So some lower PP events in Pro would be good IMO, except you wont see me there lol :dopey::dopey:

I was beginning to think I was the only one :)

Low PP for me is exactly the same as high PP in terms of tactics and overtaking and stuff but in slow motion, which makes it about half as much fun. I wonder if you'd draw a line somewhere, or would driving cars with 2 or 3 horsepower at speeds of 5 or 6MPH be as good as gran turismo could possibly get for these people?

However it works get used to it - we're in the minority :grumpy:

It's all about being able to use the lower pp cars , it brings a bigger variety,it opens up the door for all who enter, not just a handfull of cars that you traditonally see atop the board at the end of a race.I like the big pp car selection, but it gets annoying having to run them time in and time out just to win.BTW,when was the last time you seen cars, with pro phys. like the Mini Coop,Alfa,Integra,Lotus 111R,Citroen,RSX,etc,etc,etc on top of the board at the end of a race in a high pp event ?

Bring the level of competition down to 600pp,and my 111R can thump the GTLM,proven fact,I've done it. So have other people in this forum,I've seen it,nothing like seeing a lower rated car beat up on the big bully's of the game,it's a great feeling.

I would not call you a minority my friend,it's just time for change, people are tired of big pp events , look at the poll in this forum (next online events vote) , we all can't be wrong 👍

"We all can't be wrong"! ? - just means alot of nana's are posting that's all.

If the big PP races go then I will not be playing. Might as well go watch some paint drying.

I guess some just can't handle the power! Off you go in your little toot toots.

Dear Mr Lennon

I would be more than happy to meet you on the track. I don't usually need the the big stick(GTLM) so you will find me in the "white" Amuse.

Might be a wise ideal for you to look at the names who are in favor of low pp racing think you'll see many of the fastest guys around are in favor of it. I doubt you could hang with any of them in low or high pp.:sly:
