Absolutely. Though it seems to be giving me more questions than answers in this case. Dammit! Why can't computers interpret questions, like a human, then give you exactly what you want. Why can't they only show you the exact sentence that your info lies in instead of a whole page of crap. This "common word" bullhonkey is so '90s! I can't wait 'til search engines aren't just engines, but are actually intelligent. Does anyone agree?

EDIT: Iron is the most common element by mass. That doens't necessarily mean it has the most moles of any other element. Wait, Wikipedia says it's the second most common by mass, at "34.6%", though I'll just say "around 35%".
Wikipedia says "The element [Oxygen] is the second most common on Earth, composing around 46% of the mass of Earth's crust and 28% of the mass of Earth as a whole, and is the third most common element in the universe." Then, in the Iron article they say "Iron is the most abundant metal on Earth, and is believed to be the tenth most abundant element in the universe. Iron is also the second most abundant (by mass, 34.6%) element making up the Earth..."

So what's first then? If Iron is 34.6% of the whole Earth and Oxygen is 28% of the whole Earth...

The table I posted earlier is also from Wikipedia, incidentally...

The only way to say which is more common is by the amount of moles. Someone find the amount of moles of O vs. the amount of moles of Fe on the whole planet, including the atmosphere. The number of atoms is the only real way to just abundance, since it doesn't amtter what form the element is in.

Find it? Work it out!

Mass of Earth = 5.9736×1024 kg (5.9736x1021 tonnes)
Oxygen = 28% of mass of Earth = 1.67x1021 tonnes
Iron = 35% of mass of Earth = 2.09x1021 tonnes

Atomic mass of Oxygen = ~16 = 16g/mole
Atomic mass of Iron = ~56 = 56g/mole

Moles of Oxygen in Earth = 1.67x1027g / 16 = 104x1024
Moles of Iron in Earth = 2.09x1027g / 56 = 37x1024

So by occurrence of atoms, oxygen is 2.8 times more abundant than iron.

Thank you, Famine, for the calculation. Now we have an answer that a true chemist would agree with. Atomic content is the only real way to know. I would have done some calculations, but I couldn't find my chemistry notebook and didn't remember how to do it. And I wouldn't trust Google for a math equation.
Oh, I was right by the way. So that puts me at 18, and Famine at, hell, just give him 20. But that tater problem was a trick question, so everyone should be exempted!

If it's by atoms I got that one right, if it's by mass I didn't get it right, but right now I don't care.

2, A woman has 5 Potatoes to feed 3 children how can she give them equal portions without fractions?
(oh boy am I going to get flamed for this!!....)
Mashed Potato!!!
Sorry :guilty:

Too right you're going to get flamed!

How can you accept a ridiculous answer like mashed potato? And not a reasoned one like give them one each and keep 2? If I had answered, 'make a potato smoothie out of it' then can I get my 2 points?!:scared:

And don't get me started on the fastest lap question....:sly:

My guess was that she ate 4 herself and used the 5th as a sex toy.

I'll have my score bumped up to twelve, please.

I got the first answer right, which has been proven. I also said that Giraffes have a black tongue.

And hey, how the heck did Greycap get 11 points?

You ungrateful sods! Dunc gives you a quiz to burn the boredom and you start thingking you're the bosses  Whatever happened to the refs decision is final!

AAAAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!! I have a potato up my *****************

I'm going to bed. :guilty:
