I've had it with these stupid Time Trials; they are getting more and more unfriendlier each time one comes out. Say what you guys want but I prefer how balanced it was when SRF was an OPTIONAL CHOICE until some group of hardcore junkies kept pleading for it to have it turned off!

That's like racism if ya ask me.

If it were for a ticket to watch an actual race, fine then keep SRF off but right now mainly we're fighting for colour chips!!!!!

Until the SRF becomes an OPTIONAL choice for Seasonal Events to fight for colour chips, I'm skipping this garbage excuse for an event.....

Make it OPTIONAL if the prize is
  • a colour chip
  • a car you can buy in the in-game dealership

Make it FORCED OFF if the prize is
  • a spot for GT Academy
  • prize money
  • a trip to an exclusive event (VIP meetings, game conventions, racing events etc.)
  • a GT Academy-exclusive car that cannot be bought from in-game dealership

I think people who actually have been persecuted or had some prejudice against them at some point will find the OPs shallow post offensive. Not sure how a game lacking an option suddenly is on equal ground to racism, but the idea from the OP is quite ignorant.

Also I'm surprised you're not more mad at the general idea of having to play pokemon with paint chips in the first place, rather than just being given a outright paint pallet with every conceivable color.

I think they should make them more difficult.
Making SRF optional would have the opposite effect.

Well that depends on the event that is!

With most events, I dont aim for 1st place in the world.

Just enough time to get gold, then I just move on to the next event.

Now this is as close as your gonna get it.

If your having issues, try another car, if you tried all your cars but cant get gold, look at what the world leaders are using.

GSX-R/4
NSX-R LM Concept.
ect.

Most people like me simply asked PD to make SRF OPTIONAL for everything in the game, not to force it off entirely. However, it's Kaz & PD who like to force things on us players. In certain events, they either force SRF on or off, rather than giving people the choice.

It's this kind of inconsiderate mentality that's ruining the game for you & me alike. I want the option to turn SRF off, you want the option to turn it on, whereas PD wants to force us to play each event their own way regardless of what we actually want as individuals. They're killing their own game with this kind of mindless stupidity, shame on them.

:ouch:

They actually need to make them harder. It is easy to get gold. You have to go incredibly slow to get silver. There is no competing for paint chips.

The bigger problem is people competing for position and they have to use active steering, traction control and ASM. Then it turns into a domino effect and after a few days, a fair portion of the top 1000 are using active steer. Many using traction control as well. That's something worth complaining about.

To be fair some people like me who hate SRF with a passion, think it is a bad thing for new players to use because it doesn't let them learn how to become good drivers: it holds back your potential. Some of us who wanted no SRF do not care so much that players in Seasonals could use them to win paint chips, we hate that it could be used by players on the leaderboards. Since it gave obvious advantages for faster times, it meant everyone who ever wanted to compare their times with others on the leaderboards had to use SRF too. For example, when SRF was forced off I noticed that I would jump up as much as 20,000 places in the rankings: in other words there were about 20,000 people out there who were not as good as me, but were made to appear to be better than they were because they used altered imaginary physics. We would have had no problem with PD not allowing SRF users in the rankings, but allow those who want or need to use it to do so, but just not have their times qualify on the leaderboards. Again I think they should never have introduced SRF in the series in the first place, because look the trouble it has caused. Those who grew up or chose not to use SRF will have become much more skilled and confident, while those who relied on it now feel like they are being punished. It's a shame.

Here's some interesting ideas:
-make all driving aids optional in all game modes, give more credits to people who turn aids off.
-ditch the stupid paint chip system and make all colors available in a color palette/wheel like every other game does.
Give us more credits? No. Not going to have BS'ers up tens of thousands of spots from where they SHOULD place deservingly, because of a physics defying aid. We don't care about credits. We care about winning. Get the paint chip and call it a day. That is all the OP wants, afterall - the paint chips. Allowing aids for everyone would ruin the entire point of seasonals. They're not for rewards. They're for competing. The gold time is typically ~10 seconds behind first place. Again, gold is ridiculously easy to get and if it's not achievable, that's the way it is. Don't ruin it for everyone else, who put a fair amount time and effort into most seasonals. It's also not a total arcade game anymore. You're not going to have your hands held everywhere within it. If you can't get gold with merely ABS...sorry then I guess. Go try it with a faster car. You'll get it eventually. Some people aren't going to get gold, though. It is what it is. If you can't, then work on getting better. That's what everyone ahead of you has done, so do it yourself, rather than complaining about paint colors and ruining the majority of peoples' fun.

I'd like to see every Seasonal come with two leaderboards. One with a fixed set of "professional" driving aids, perhaps ABS only, limited tire selection, more limited car selection etc., and then a wide open leaderboard where anything goes. One set of prizes, you get the prizes for simply competing a lap at the lowest prize level, usually bronze, on either board.

IMO, the competition should be the reward in and of itself, prize rewards are meaningless for most of us because we already know when we enter whether we're going to get them or not and denying the slower players access to anything, even paint chips, isn't good game design IMO. There's already too much of that in this game to begin with.

Exactly...
I just try to do the best I can do, usually I end up on the 300-1000's. I will never end up 1st:)

A lot of people like the competition of trying to get as far up the leaderboard as they can. Allowing SRF completely dampens a TT. It would also make it incredibly easy to get gold. The fact that you can go 10 seconds faster than the gold time is ridiculous. That's why it's called gold. It should be way harder to get gold on TT's.

@Jayson619. He is probably that person that say these things about GT6: "Where is Zahara?"... "Where is the Course Maker I paid for?".... "GT6 sounds sucks, sounds like a vacuum.".... "Where is Quick Match and Community?"

First world problems in this thread. It's an optional time trial. Worry less about what others are doing and focus on what you can do.
Ironically, if you took your own advice, you wouldn't have made that post.

And if he's not that person, you've just violated the AUP by posting material that is false, misleading or inaccurate.

"Probably"

But ok then...

Nearly every opinion on this forum is race based. After all, this is a RACING game and like pianists, violinists and guitarists, we are RACEists.

No offense intended.

Between posting on here on Sunday and monday - I realized I quite possibly am getting annoyed by and am arguing with kids, teenagers, etc. Not worth it. Let them complain about and defend aids. They either think they need it to get gold or paint chips (lol) or that it doesn't make them faster. It is what it is, they're not going to change their minds and we sure as hell aren't either. Eventually they may, but it's not worth thinking about.

People also use aids and turn them of before they cross the finish line and the lap is registered. If people say they've done it before many times or tried it and it helped their time, I have no reason to think they stopped BS'ing their times via that method. I wish PD would block that crap out. THOSE are the sort of things that turn me off to seasonal/makes me not want to go hard and shoot for the top sometimes. Not the other way around. Just not worth telling these people off or what they should I've realized over the past few days on here.

And Stiggy makes a good point that people beat gold by ten seconds. Obviously, they've got women good testers over at PD...so they know it will happen. IIRC off then top of my head, beau did a 1:42 at the 97T seasonal and I'm pretty sure gold was up around the mid 50s. That is kind of silly. But then the paint chip and people who want the money get all upset. Maybe it is just me...but I don't spend anytime making cars look good in GT6. I'm always tinkering with setups and trying to get my peddle setup working betterm I imagine there are a few others that don't care about collecting paint chips that you'll never use. The shades are ridiculous anyways. Metallic green is not gunmetal something something 008-C or whatever. And seriously, who wants to paint their car gold chrome for more than one time using it on the track lol?

I know some will, obviously. But I would be blown away if it was anywhere near the majority. Not worth attempting to understand these posts and mindsets anymore lol. To each their own, but let's not ruin things so someone can get a stupid paint shade.

Its not a racing game so I keep getting told when I have a moan about missing features, its a driving game where players can be at one with their vehicles in the digital world.
