Not the A-Spec event, the seasonal event, you must be connected to PSN in order to get access to the seasonal's though, so this may not help you if you can't get online

Ohhh. I am missing out on so much. Whatever happened to games with seperate online and offline gameplay?

Like GT5, perhaps? ;)

The Seasonal's are only accessible while online (as mentioned above), but only needing to be signed into PSN to access them. The Spec/Licenses/Specials are all offline, and probably better for the XP than the credits. And as you have probably now realized, those Seasonal events pay a helluva lot more even if your 'net is rubbish.

I'm in your corner Snake Whiskers...This same update notice happened to me months ago .....

Aye, same here although I can't remember what race it was in, what I was driving or what the update was for. I too got an update message mid race once.

And may I ask why you declined the Spec II update?

Think about, if someone bought a computer 10 years ago and refused to update it, odds are not every program today will run flawlessly with Windows 95. You need to update whenever possible...

Try doing that on a 3GB internet cap per month, even less for some people I know. We're getting GT5 for Christmas and we're lucky to have a little more than that but if i'm gonna have to download 5GB of updates that will simply have to be stretched over 2-3 allowances still. Some of my friends would simply not be able to afford this at all, unless you can download updates in part. 👎

Game update messages only occur on initial load.

PS3 system update messages can occur mid-game.

It was a PS3 system update messages.

Your complaint is null and void.

Move along.

Guess what...I'm in the middle of a Suzuka 1000 and a message pops up to tell me the latest update(2.03) for the software has been found.

And you seemed so sure of yourself you even used bold.👍

Just for good measure I pitted, saved, quit GT5 and what do you know it tells me my system software is up to date...restart GT5, same update message I got during the race. Looks like a game update message to me:dunce:

Hmm...you were offline, but the game promped you to update? Since you declined at start, it appeared yet again during a race (not any race, 2nd to last lap of a endurance race) and it only has happened to you?

I find it hard to believe. There are 2 options:
1) You're extremely unlucky
2) You're some Forza fanboy.

Im not leaning towards either.

If you were offline then I don't think this is possible....and how would it happen at lap 59 of a 60 lap race? Hmm....I don't buy it.

I must just be unlucky then 'cos I won't even have an xbox in the house never mind play Forza over GT. When have I ever mentioned anything about Forza? I couldn't care less about other driving games....I'm a GT fanboy too:sly:

The first time I saw the message was on about lap 72 of the Suzuka 1000. If I'd seen the message before starting the event I would have updated and probably gone to play the new seasonals instead. Don't believe me? Meh:)

daft biker wins the internet.

Congratulations sir. 👍

First of all dude if you don't like the game go play need for speed. Second of all what kind of Internet speeds do you have 1/2 a meg download speed? I play at least two hours online every day on this game. And I have plenty of complaints believe me, but being too hard is not one of them.

Off-line in this game is awful but where it's at is the online. So get your game updated, and find some good online racing.

If you playstation is off line, there is NO way it knows there is need to update. Even if you are logged in, the only time it tells you to update the game is when you first load it up. VERY CONFUSED.
