Just wondering: When you have all the cars in the game, will you get some sort of notification/alert? Or will you simply have to keep track and know this by yourself?
You probably would't get every single car in the game. Theres probably too many. PD wouldn,t expect you to reach this amount of cars, therefore not bothering with an alert/notification. BTW I'm pretty sure theres 1030 cars (roughly) in the game so you check you're garage and see.

People have said on this site that they have gotten all of the cars. Its not out of the realm to get all of the cars. It would take time but its possible.
It is totally possible to obtain all cars. Your garage has a limit of 2000 while the game has 1030 or so cars. You wont be able to have every color variant though.
The trophy is not for having all the cars in the game. Just 1000 in your garage. They can be all go karts.
If I'm not completely wrong, obtaining every single car in one save file is impossible. This is because here in EU we can get the XJ13 Chrome Line which the US don't get. The US on the other hand get the Edge Camaro.
There are 1049 cars in total. In addition to those mentioned by Clio182 there are the 6 Stealth cars, the XJ13 Chrome Line, the Gamestop Camry NASCAR, and the DLC GT Academy GT-R.
If you're asking about the car collectors trophy yep their is a ring after you have acquired 1000 cars, if you're trying to keep tabs on collecting all the cars in GT, their is no alert! But for all the cars you own, they are checked off in the dealerships so you won't buy the car twice, unless you want to
Just Car Collector Trophy (yet) by filling your Garage with 1,000 cars. Would look like this but there is no trophy for "all" cars. Polyphony will just keep on adding cars.

Yeah, as the number of cars of our own increases it becomes much harder to find out the exact one in your search, sneaking in the used car dealerships just for a few rare cars left really drags time and makes us feel worn-out.
