we're waiting for the PS4
fishtailrook1 (?)
this is getting aggravating.

according to the comp, the main audio program has gone conk, either the "driver is corrupt, or there's not enough memory or other resources". it seems like every time I've debugged this thing lately, something gets removed or damaged by the Virus or Spyware scanners. I can't retrieve the original from the recovery partition, and the CD_r fried itself for some reason, so I can't pull it off an XP disk :P

any suggestions, including for memory boosting? (can't afford any more Physical memory)

Find out the exact make and model of the sound card and download the latest drivers from the manufacurers website.

are you running Win95 Plus! or something? Your PC seems to have the oddest issues with it. Mebbe it's time for an upgrade?

I think it was a Service pack issue. a system restore put the Soundcard back (here, it had been cut off), but I'd like to prevent another circumstance of this.

Diego:
someone suggested this off a chatroom. I gotta try and remember the started for this, but I got a DxDialogue for the comp (note, comp bought used)

Also: no, I ain't upgrading to Vista. according to one of my ex's (a microsoft certified), Vista is best put on a dedicated machine for it.

I have Vista and I'm actually considering a downgrade to XP... keep in mind my Vista is legal, and I'm considering an illegal XP, so draw your own conclusions out of that. As to hardware, it might as well be written in Chinese. I do happen to know there's a SP3 for XP, but I dunno if your system is compatible with it.
