Yesterday I installed my 32" and works great with GT5 all I need is a wheel upgrade now for my DFGT. i want to change it for the following reasons :
noise
no H shifter and clutch
want the shifter to be independent of the wheel
gear feeling when cornering
want to install a handbreak (must).

There a few candidates for my pocket (sorry no 500 euro for a T500 rs).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G27
+ 225 euro for a complete package, durability , amazing customer support, available handbreak product
- no GT5 support which makes me use the joypad for other controls (not a very big issue), but the one I am concerned is very low FFB in GT5? is this a big issue and can it be fixxed?

Verdict: maybe the strongest candidate for me right now. Correct me if you think otherwise.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
911 carrera
+ price for a wheel with H shifter and clutch
- wobbly pedals and bad shifter
Verdict: Doesnt seem like much of an upgrade to my DFGT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
911 GT2
what differences between GT3 RS V2? (not taking pedals into account)
+ great feeling and fully customisable in GT5 also you can change the degrees?
- many problems with reliability even on brand new items and horrible support, price with CSP is 450 euro sorry i cant give that much else I would consider T500 RS!
verdict: seems like a gamble but for its price I prefer the package of GT3 RS V2 /w CSP
------------------------------------------------------------------------
911 GT3 RS V2 /w clubsport pedals
+ FFB on the brake is totally great, the price is NOT bad if you consider the pedals you get with it
- many problems with reliability even on brand new items and horrible support
verdict: This choice is a close 2nd next to G27 but I need to know the differences between this wheel and GT2 to be sure about it!

After reading on the matter several weeks this is what I have learned so far. Please enlighten me if you find my knowledge on the matter is lacking. I am going to decide today and order the wheel! i want to hear every opinion and experience you had with these wheels. i really appreciate your help!

GT2 = GT3RS + Xbox compatibility

If you don't play racing games on xbox, then why pay extra for a feature you don't need?

So its exactly the same wheel just with Xbox compatibility? I guess we can remove it already from the options, as I only use PS3 + PC

I got a G27 and I am not disappointed in anyway. It was between this and the Fanatec GT2 and I beleive I made the right choice. Once you hold the wheel and start racing you begin to realise how brilliant it actually is. I forgot about the price once I started playing whereas with the GT2 I think the price would always be at the back of my mind.

Also, if you did want the clubsport pedals (with FFB on the brake etc) you can get the logitech adapter so you can use them with the G27 if you do want to upgrade to them.

So my opinion is G27. Easily.

What wheel did you have before? Do you have any issues with FFB in the game like not feeling curves?

Currently at this moment I would advise you to wait.
Prices of Fanatec current wheels may vary, then again they may not but with new models coming it is possible.

The G27 is a good upgrade over the DFGT, sure you will enjoy it if indeed you get it but I would strongly advise sticking with the DFGT and hold out for a few months.

You could get a G27 but feel in 4-6 months time wishing you did wait As FM4 for instance is looking to be a very impressive console racing game and a multi platform wheel would be the best option perhaps? Don't you see yourself tempted to get a X360 if indeed it is more impressive than GT5?

I would suggest the same thing as Mr. Latte. I went with GT3rs V2 thinking i would just stick to GT5 and PC racing but as news for FM4 comes out, I am starting to regret not waiting for the GT2.. Also, he is spot on with the pricing. The pricing of the fanatec shifter is lowered in anticipation of the CS shifter.. might be some price changes when the new wheels comes out.

The price reduction of our shifter was an exception. Almost all other products are more expensive then they were at launch.

I had a DFGT before, havn't had any issues with FFB, a huge improvement over the DFGT in every way.

I have not heard of using the CSP on a G27 outside of PC.

Are you 100% certain of this?.

I know it's possible to use the G27 pedals via an adapter to the GT wheels.

As for the OP. The Fanatec is better than the G27.
The onboard programable feature is 95% future proof of idiotic developer choices. (I'm looking at you FGT championship 900 degrees).

You can't go wrong with a G27 either mind, it's a nice package. I quite like the gear box on it though some don't.

Sorry yeah thats PC only with the club sports.

As for this it's out of the question for me. I use only the PS3 along with streaming etc. and an xbox is of no use to me except maybe buying forza 4!
So I keep this out of my mind.... Having said that about the new models I heard they are all going to be high end products correct?

If yes than this means I have nothing to wait since I can't afford them :).

From that list and my research I would go gt3rs + CSPs. however G27 with mods is a candidate. That is all I'd pick from that list

I only have a t500rs atm so as always, it's just an educated guess on my part. I hear lots of good bout CSPs. 👍

So to be clear, I'd go GT3RS + CSP. this way you use CSPs on the PS3, albeit with lower resolution on the brakes. surely Fanatec will fix that with the new models. but when that happens sale the gt3rs, and get new wheel

The G27 FFB is noticably quiter and smoother, beautiful to use after using the DFGT for so long.

Fanatec lovers do your best to change my opinion, G27 is dragging me....

:p

As the owner of both, my G27 gets much more playtime than my Fanatec. I don't know why but I prefer the feeling I get from my Logitech than my Fanatec. The Club Sport Pedals are a class above the G27 pedals, but I feel the G27 wheel itself is made and plays better. The G27 shifter is also much, much better than the Fanatec one. I just keep my Fanatec hooked up to my Xbox now, so when Forza 4 gets released it'll get some more playtime.

They're both fantastic wheels and you can't go wrong with either one, but if I had to choose between my Logitech and Fanatec, I'd choose the G27 any day of the week. That is until I get my Thrustmaster T500RS of course.

I think you came here and just ended the thread?

Thats good!

The difference between the two wheels is 330+30(shifter)=360 vs 230 = 130 euro. (+ 20-30 for transportation, since I can pickup G27 locally)

For that ammount I get these:
Adjustable pedals (with the kit), with force feedback on the brake
Full support on GT5 (changing buttons etc.)
Customizable degrees on wheel from 90 to 900

Any other feature I may not know?

The disadvantages are:
worse shifter
bad customer support
more expensive :p
less durable - higher probability of needing repair

Is there anything more to add in this comparison?
I will give a good thought on the differences and decide for tomorrow morning and place my order! Usually when I sleep with a problem I wake up with the solution :)

GT3RS is quieter and has smoother and more powerful force feedback, the wheel rim is covered with that expensive Alcantra thing that's used on real racing wheels. I think all the adjustability and clubsport pedals makes fanatec worth it's price

Fanatec with CSP , CSP tuning kit + shifter + transportation from germany is around 450 euro

G27 with transportation is 234 euro!

I am getting G27 and with the extra 200 when ever i want I can do some heavy modding!
