I believe the title says most of the story, I was just wondering if an NSX would be capable of fighting off ferraris and such, with or without tuning adjustments made to output and weight and the like, as I'd rather run my 91 acura than that LM road car...

thanks in advance! :)

I has tried my Honda NSX from the Premium dealership (not the Acura) in the supercar events against the beasts.
With a light tuning and racing tires is able to fight for the win, and fully tuned my NSX crush'em all.

EDIT: I has tried lots of cars in that event :D

Yes, very. I show up online all the time in my Type R (suspension tweaked to my liking mind you) and can hang with most Ferrari's, Lambos, etc... and if you're talking about against the AI, then yes, the NSX, if you have it setup properly, will destroy them - HP doesn't matter (or matters a great deal less) when you can drive a car to 100% consistently; it handles and brakes very, very well.

I wish PD would give us the HSV. It would eat Ferraris for breakfast.

You probably already know that the HSV is not a production car. Seeing that GT5 doesn't have a race ready Ferrari (except for the two F1 cars and the vintage P3/4) and even if it does, none of the current Ferrari GT racers- the F430 or the newer 458 GTC are quite in the same league as the HSV-010 or any of the GT500 cars from Super GT. They might be close but when it comes to GT racing if it ain't from the same class, it's still no cigar.

In real life and even in GT5 when you're using the same tires (let's say Sport Hard) on a short, twisty and tight track like Tsukuba, the NSX-R can be quite close to Corvette Z06 (C5 or C6) and perhaps an Audi R8 (V8).

My 02 NSX Type R kicks the arse of those supercars. Yes it lacks in power, but it weighs like 1050kg, and outhandles soooo many things. People reckon that its tailhappy, and I won't disagree, it is a bit tricky to handle, but if you're good that doesn't really matter too much. That NSX rests at 550pp, even though its quicker than most cars up to 600.

The tailhappines of NSX comes from the unrealistic default allignment settings. Add some camber and it becomes a lot more stable in the corners. With it's low weight it actually handles so well that it sometimes feels like a race car even on sports tires. :D

One of the fastest drives around the Nordschleife in the 500 pp range.

Yes sir it will! Lightweight, nimble, and awesome sound too. As other have said, just get the tune right to counteract the tailhappiness. :D

A modded NSX against mostly stock supercars, sure. . . it'll win. But if you're online and going against fully decked out super and hyper cars, I highly doubt it.

In it's pp class the nsx is untouchable. Been my favorite driving car since gt3. Almost bought one in real life. Amazing cars.

Supercar seasonals, yes.
Modified, non-Ai driven supercars, not likely. They're somewhat lacking in power by comparison.

the nsx R fully tune and with good set up will make those supercars eat dust with its amazing weight and great handling..for the price and the price of a stock enzo..hmm. Up to you.

Honda NSX Type R '02;
Handling is amazing when tuned (suspension and LSD) however the power lacks and I struggle to get even upto 175MPH, full modded I think mines only has 441BHP? so I think it's only good for short twisty tracks because all the supercars will leave you behind in the straights.

I think I'll try it in the supercar festival seasonal event.

I always use the same tyres the AI does, if you use anything better the races just become incredibly easy and thus, incredibly boring. I reckon the NSX Type R has a good chance. It's a bit down on power, but it is very light compared to gallardos, 458's etc. The more extreme supercars (Zondas etc...) might be a bit of a problem, but a good driver could definitely beat them, as long as we're talking about racing the AI. ANYTHING can happen when you play online. :D

I'm talking about a tuned NSX Type R, with around 440bhp and 1000(?)kg.

I have the NSX-R LM Proto. Road Car. 600+ hp, gold chrome, RS tires, it destroys the competition.:D

I believe that the stock NSX is meant to compete against other 276-hp, Japanese production cars, like the Evo 9, RX-7, Skyline GT-R, and Supra RZ. Being the only MR out of the bunch, It will naturally have a handeling advantage.

If you raced the following cars, it would be quite a close race:D

That being said, however, kills any chance of this competing overpowered competition like Ferraris. Those were made without limits, unlike the Japanese cars, which had a cap of ~300hp:crazy:
