NSX Concept R vs Type R '02

Is there any difference between these two cars? I bought the concept R from the used car dealer, put on some racing tires and ran a 1:33 on trial mountain. Its a very nice car stock. The specs are the same as the premium "type R" but it has a little less PP. Does it have any inherent benefit over the premium car?

I am looking to try another 500pp build.

Okay thanks thats like saying the Ford GT 07's difference from the Ford GT '05 (No Stripe) is the lack of a stripe.

The no stripe is faster... duh.
 
In GT4, the Concept would get an extra horsepower over the production Type R. I'm not sure if that same advantage carried over into GT5 though.

I'll fully tune the car and compare lap times to my fully tuned nsx type r. I was thinking the same thing since it seems that the standard cars have some inherent advantages that are not revealed in terms of performance points, weight, or power.
 
Ok tested it out, here are the results.

The tune setup the same on both:
All items purchased on both. Racing soft tires.

powerlimiter: reduced to 500pp see below

If you're trying to test the difference between production cars- both in real life and in GT5- probably the best way to go is to keep them stock. That way you reduce any added variables. And use tires that don't mask the handling of the cars ie. don't use racing tires on road cars. For something like the NSX, I find Comfort Soft's a good choice.
