Hey guys,

I'd like to add the Lambo from the NTSC-J GT3 version to my garage. If anyone's got it, on a spare memcard, please contact me through this email. thx.

edit: though there would be more 'trust' and 'maturity' in this forum. But i'll take your word for it, yer probably right. Just haven't had problems in 'other' boards.

RedOak it is not a good idea to put your email address in a post. You are liable to get all sort of spam sent to you.We can email you a response by clicking on the email button below your post. I suggest you edit your post and remove your email address as soon as possible.

Hmm.

If you have the PAL (Europe, most of the World) version, you won't be able to get the Diablo at all.
If you have the NTSC/US version you can, but only through nefarious means - or buy trading it off someone else who's acquired it through those means.
If you have the NTSC/Japan version, you can win it in the Monaco Endurance.

It'd be easier (and cheaper) for you to get an Xport/Sharkport and put the car ino your garage using mk's GT3gEdit programme - unless you have the PAL version, in which case you're royally boned.

I though just having someone send me a memcard copy from a Ntsc-J game for a week would be cheaper... ? That way, i can just trade the car on the memcards, or buy it off it.

Would you be able to access an NTSC/Japan gamesave file from an NTSC/US game disc?

Isn't that how they accessed the Diablo in the first place? I just figured the initial discovery was someone going "gee, I wonder what'll happen if I trade this Diablo to my american game save." I could be wrong though.

that's what i was told on this forum initially. That's why i'm asking if someone's willing to lend me a memcard for a week.

Well i recommend you just get an X-Port as you will never need more than 1 memory card again, so basically it pays for itself. Plus you can get a whole lot more than the Diablo (Hybrids).

hmmm ain't the x-port a region-free device (kinda?) That mean's i'd still need to get a NTSC-J version of the game... ?!

No - as long as you have an NTSC version of the game and not a PAL version, the Xport will allow you to access the Diablo (through the magic of mk's GT3gEdit programme - available and explained through my signature).

I did some research on the Sharkport(NTSC), and it would seem it won't be compatible with the latest series of PS2s.

Anyone care to comment? I just recently bought a new PS2...

yup, i can confirm it now... it seems the latest version of the PS2 are not compatible with the Xport/shark device. As is the Ilink connector missing, replaced by the Network adaptor.

So i guess i'm at a dead end for the Lambo... :(

I believe there is a new version of the Sharkport/Xport software for the new PS2s... Do a quick search in the Hybrids & Gamesharks forum...

Ok, so an Xport is really a 'MaxDrive' ? I've been reading on the webpage (codejunkies.com) and both devices seem to be the same... ?

I'm really sorry, its all very confusing for me i guess.

Ah no - I think the MaxDrive is the "new" thing. It's similar to a USB Flash drive (aka "pen") - plug it into the PS2's USB port, stick whatever you want onto it, then take it out and plug it in to the PC.

It will have the same essential end-product - your files are on your PC... :D

as a comment to another thread, if you have the usb ports on the back of the computer, just hooking up and leaving an x port hooked up is easier.

well in all honesty, i'm not about to complain if i have to extend my arm to reach the back of my caising, once a month... ;)
