DR A
SR A (since the last race I did around 1 month ago. Rage quit for the first time in my life).

Races: 108
Wins: 36
Poles: 43
Fastest Laps: 28

Was DR B and SR S on day one because of the demo.

Dr:A
Dr:S

Races:561
Wins:64
Poles:88
Fastest Laps:62

Dr bar is filled 3/4 so just a litte bit to Dr:S but I think i‘m stuck as the competition is really strong and I mainly drive the one make races.

DR B
SR S

205 races
87 poles
97 wins

(For the first 2 weeks I kept my DR at D/E by quitting during the warmup session in order to get the Schumacher trophy out of the way as quickly as possible. Out of 100 races I won 91, easy as pie. Been racing in B/S since)

How on Earth can you progress to S in only 63 Races...

I only run races I think I can compete strongly in (generally 10 lap grp3), I consistently get matched against strong opposition, I’ve only finished outside top 6 twice, and I’m normally on the podium.

Maybe the 10 lap races have a greater effect on DR because I’ve never finished out of the Top 5 to the best of my knowledge and I’ve won over 50% of my races yet I’m still only halfway through A...

Appreciate the info.

It’s maybe who I get matched against. I’m consistently getting matched against the very fastest qualifiers in Europe.

I only have c.15 poles/wins. But I finish consistently every race.

DR:B
SR:S

Races: 125
Poles: 8
Fastest Laps: 4
Wins:4

Here is a list of my excuses:

In GR4 I often get passed or bumped off track while I'm respecting the roadblock of car/cars in front that are slowing me down.

My TV brings up a huge screen covering box that says 'operation not performed in a while, shut down - Yes/No?'

The autostart starts me in a corner and I immediately spin off track.

I don't rejoin the track until it is safe to do so - unless the hand of god puts me back on track.

In 90% of my races the grid around me is separated by tenths in qualifying times, I don't use aids so the smallest error costs me dear.

I only drive RWD cars that I like the look of.

I've found a solution to my TV and autostart issues, so I'm hoping to perform better in future.

I'm not sure but I'd guess that @Stotty didn't start playing sport mode on day one.

If someone started on day one, after 60 races he wouldn't reach DRS because the opposition was mostly B/S and a few A/S - that gives you less DR progress per race, regardless of a win. Now that there are loads of DR A and quite a few DRS, he'll progress faster if he has the pace.

I know for a fact that if I win a race today I get more DR progress out of it than what I was getting with wins, poles and fastest laps combos back in October. And pretty much every race I did since day 1 I was set up against top10 guys. Lost the count to how many close races I had against derek, for example.

Having said that, last time I entered a race in sport mode was the Mound Panorama (Season 2 - Constructor's Cup) and my DR just went down to around 55%. Now sits at around 70% DRA without me doing a single race. Not sure if any update changed the DR progress system or not, but that's where I'm atm. I know that when I get back to racing I'll be DRS but I'm waiting for a penalty system update.

Yes, I was on holiday when the game launched and a week behind most people when I started playing. Then I spent the 1st few days golding the campaign.

When I eventually started on line, it only took me 5 races to get to DRB SRS (5 poles/5 wins), and as soon as I got to DRB/SRS I was immediately matched against the very fastest... I guess because my qualifying times were good.

It did, well I think it was separate to the update but at near enough the same time, in any case it's changed. ;)

I played the demo pre release, so I think I started the game with DR:B SR:B on day one, I racked up more wins in the demo than I have in the game so far.

Oh how I wish there was a proper podium

Where do you find out this info btw?

i’m stuck in DR:B. i don’t have enough time to prepare races
Not wanting to come across as attacking your ability, but it may be that your pace is only that of DR:B.

It's not a progression system that, if you play long enough you'll get to DR:S. It's a rating. The game has rated your speed, based on your race performances, at B on the sliding scale.

Not everyone can be an S rated driver, some may never be. The only one that you directly control is SR, because you CHOOSE whether to be clean or not.

I'm rated B and often see my rating go up to A briefly and then back down again. That's a fact of how fast I am. Until I improve my ability by a large amount then I won't progress to DR:S. But I don't really want to be a DR:S, as I'll get paired with people much faster than me and the experience will suffer.

People who see the DR as a progression that they HAVE to achieve S on are not playing the game properly IMO.

Not really fair, people can still work towards getting an S DR even if they start out at say a B level. DR-S isn't exactly Formula 1, so it's fair that if you work hard at getting faster and better at the game you could achieve an S rank.

Similarly I know for a fact that if I spent more time I'd be Masters at Starcraft 2, I've bean a number of Masters players and a couple of Grand Master players in my time, but I simply don't have the time to invest in getting higher than I am at the moment. But it doesn't mean that I'll never be at that level... if that makes sense

I've been BS like for ever, and I'm pretty sure I'll be BS for ever. I guess I'm a BS kind of guy.

:D Not sure SS is a nicer type of guy. ^^

Sorry for the off-topic. Couldn't resist your bait. :gtpflag:

How do I find what info?

I know how many races/poles etc I’ve finished from the progress screen. I remember the 2 races I didn’t finish well in because they are exceptions!

Hopefully you didn't go to university... here in GT Sport it's actually better to be known for BS than having a BA!

(I'm in the same boat, I'll never achieve AS or SS as I'm not fast enough)

292 races
27 wins
24 Fastest Laps
25 poles

Cheers
