It's not a bad thing for them to fix it. There shouldn't be holes in the tracks. That's an error. People fix errors. Compris?

Brilliantly said. 👍

This, people complaining about fixing glitchs/exploits are butthurt. My display picture describes thier faces at finding out PD are fixing glitches.

Wouldnt you rather they spent their time doing other things?

Why does it even matter to you if I have a Miura because I spent 20 minutes on the Nurb 24H track? Makes no difference to you or anyone else, it isnt hurting anyone.

I had to

Anyway, I posted quite a few 'off track' 'glitch' whatever vid's in another thread on here, dating back to gt1 so I am not buying the give them time b.s. How much time? The only difference being now everyone see's it online and for some unknown reason it offends them that others are benifiting from doing it.

I completely agree with the idea that we PD should work on making the game better and less focus on hurting the glitchers.

It's the same idea as spending more money on schools rather than spending more money on prisons.

Make the non glitch options better and less people will need to even consider glitching.

People are too wrapped up in the symptom and not paying attention to the cause: the otherwise unfinished and broken aspects of the game.

Let whoever wants to glitch glitch. It can't be that much longer before everyone who was just glitching because they can has now maxed out their coefers and is done anyway. Hell by this point (3 glitches in) I am surprised there is anyone left who HASN'T glitched their fill.

At that point all that is left is people who were not glitching before but have now reached a point at which the games broken setup makes it no longer fun for them and the only choices are shelve the boring grind of a game and give up on the outrageously expensive cars or glitch some money and overcome PD's poor design.

At that point how is glitching really bad?

Then we are left with the group who have no use for glitching ever... let me ask you who fall into this group, your worries you might run into someone online who has an expensive car they didn't EARN... which would you rather have in 6 months:

All glitches shut down after probably 80% of the people who would glitch have glitched their fill anyway.

Or

Some patches to legitimate game play issues that make the game better and more fun?

If you chose the first one you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.

And before anyone says "they should play the game RIGHT and earn the cars by grinding like the rest of us REAL players"...

Don't throw stones... your walls seem to be made of melted sand.

Tl :DR Focus on patching glitches means game stays as unfinished as ever and many people will be done with it as they can't be bothered to grind the ridiculously long way to decent money. Only people who benefit are smug "hardcore" gamers who like to feel their expensive in game cars have earned them some kind of respect that would be lost to glitchers. Nobody wins.

Focs on patching the game and everyone gets a better game, many glitchers may not even care about glitching anymore as it's more fun to play the game than glitch. Everybody wins.

This is really my point as well. As most of the posts below you have illustrated, people are obviously more upset at glitchers than having a complete game. The smugness of the whole situation is sad really. People either unwilling or unable to see the big picture.

why glitch? to buy cars you will never use? i dont get it. why waste you time driving in circles? you still will get beat when racing other people. so what if you have all the cars!!! you will drive less then 10% of them. i dont get why everyone wants to beat GT5 so fast. they should have left GT5 with out an online feature. that ruined it, between the glitchers & dupers, GT5's life was short lived.... after 5 years of making it died in 5 months. if you say GT5 was to easy then you cheated. try to beat the game without trades, dupes or glitches. Most of you will still be enjoying the game.

I'm pretty sure your picture is of the elitests every time they find out the glitches aren't gone forever and their precious fake cars in a video game are loosing their smug value...

why glitch? to buy cars you will never use? i dont get it. why waste you time driving in circles? you still will get beat when racing other people.

You got some pretty flawed logic there...

First you somehow equate glitchers with unskilled racers... did it ever occur to you there are plenty of skilled racers out there who want more cars to race with but won't ever get them through the crippled money and progress system in GT5? It's not like grinding GT5 is the only way to improve your skill driving.

so what if you have all the cars!!! you will drive less then 10% of them.

Who said having all the cars was the point? Way to make a loaded question... I would think the majority of glitchers just want to get the prohibitively expensive cars and grind leveling out of their way.

i dont get why everyone wants to beat GT5 so fast.

Did it ever occur to you that the goal isn't to beat GT5 so fast but rather to get away from the slow tedious grind that the game is after about level 25? Again using hyperbole to make a loaded question doesn't make your point seem any more strong.

The real irony in how wrong your assumption is is that there are hard races in GT5 to beat, however glitching has no effect on how fast you beat them... if you are a good skilled racer, the only thing that would have heald you back from beating them fast was the grind (like that's a good thing) and if you are an unskilled racer, you still aren't beating them glitch or not.

they should have left GT5 with out an online feature.

You should be leader of "cut off our nose to spite our face" land.

that ruined it, between the glitchers & dupers, GT5's life was short lived....

GT5's life was short lived between lack of tracks and events, poor events, poor AI and a game halting level and money system. If anything glitching makes it possible to at least get the one thing GT5 has enough of (cars) so you can keep playing that much longer.

after 5 years of making it died in 5 months.

If it did, it only did so because of it's unfinished status at launch.

if you say GT5 was to easy then you cheated
.

No, you just didn't intentionally underpower yourself and go jump through ridiculous hoops to ensure the AI had a fighting chance. Saying if GT5 was easy you cheated is like saying "if beating up kindergardners was easy you cheated".

try to beat the game without trades, dupes or glitches.

I wouldn't want to... not because it's hard but because it's boring and a painfully artificially drawn out experience.

Most of you will still be enjoying the game.

I am now that I glitched my way to owning all the $10mil plus cars that I NEVER would have had the time to get via playing GT5 the way it's laid out and can relax without that monkey on my back along with enough money in the bank to enjoy the UCD and get what I want when it shows up without it being a constant frustrating balancing act between having money for it and finding it available. I'm done glitching so the money I had in my bank has to last me, but my garage of cars and the padding that a few mill in the bank gives me is enough to make the game enjoyable again instead of a chore.

See I know your assumption about glitchers are wrong because I glitched and none of your assumptions fit me.

I am a fairly skilled driver (place in most races and win a reasonable amount), didn't buy every car (or even close to it, my garage is about 300 cars and I only buy a car when I feel I want it, not just because I can) and would have shelved GT5 long ago if it weren't for glitching as I had hit a long boring stint of grinding unfun races over and over to progress.

So sorry... your assumptions just don't hold water.

I don't think that PD are worried about glitches... PD is fixing this small error just because it is easy to fix. I don't think they need a lot of people or time to fix that. They just have to close a block in a 3D edition program... If they were worried about glitches they would fix them as soon as apears a few lobbys on the PSN. But there's a lot of time betwen a glitch/exploit apears and they fix...
I'm sure they are working on other features in order to improve the game. And this take a bit more of time... Maybe they are testing their new features for a time, for ensure it isn't broken... They said they din't have enought time for testing the game before relase. The game is out now, so they aren't in a rush to the new stuff. I don't think they feel under presure for the coments on the internet...

People glitch in this game for the same reason that virtually no rFactor mods require you to 'earn' money to buy cars: because it's more fun to drive a car you like in an event you want to run than it is to spend forever driving one you don't like around the same track over and over again until you can't stand playing the game anymore to finally unlock a car you will never get any enjoyment out of due to the fact that you can't stand playing the game anymore. It has nothing whatsoever to do with "people don't want to enjoy the true purpose of the game - driving the cars." Quite the opposite in fact.

If anyone bothered to look at the GT website it would be clear that PD made it harder to glitch but did not completely end glitching as being able to escape the track is still possible.
They simply stopped people being able to take shortcuts.

From the horses mouth -

"We have corrected an issue where it was possible to take shortcuts on certain layouts of the NĂĽrburgring track."

PD's horrible communications come into play again. Remember standars do not support internal camera view?

Question: If this patch wasn't about stopping glitching and just "taking shortcuts" where are these alleged shortcuts on the nurb that it addressed?

i did the new glitch its very hard
glitching is stupid i did the ssr7 i got 20 million from it
then i feel like a really stupid just doing glitch all day
after patch i stopped glitching now only pro racing

This glitch is pretty much pointless. Its very hard to get in and sometimes you get teleported back to the track...

I went into a lobby and it's a pain in the *** to get in. I helped people get in with my Jay Leno tank car lol

Yep, it's hard to enter but it's posible... I entered using a FGT after 10 minutes of being crashed by a Tank Car... But about 10 secs after I entered I was back on the track...

as was just stated... Cheating and glitching are really not the same thing. Are glitchers cheating? I suppose? But does it in any way shape or form effect my game play? No.

Perhaps i haven't done enough online racing, but it seems that they all only do it in rooms designated as such? So it's not like someone starting a race on any of these glitched tracks with full intentions of racing is going to be screwed by someone glitching? The whole trade limit thing doesn't really do much to stop dupers, but it certainly effects the rest of us? Whether you agree that glitching/duping is good or bad seems so irrelevant in the case of these types of problems, it's more like... Why is pd bothering?

Perhaps i'm naive, but how does the glitching effect you/us if you simply don't do it?

There should just be a sticky thread with a few reasons like the ones above in favor of glitching, and a few that are against it, then the next time this topic comes up, one can just be pointed to the designated sticky. Srsly. This comes up like twice a week.
