I've done a few practice stints in Yamauchi's GT-R, and it seems like I can stay ahead with Racing Mediums and pitting every 2 laps, if the AI pits every 3 and I don't crash too often :sly:.

Do you guys think tire conservation to eke out one extra lap from my tires would be worth it?

(By the way: I'm not interested in comments like 'Use the X2010' or 'Get mad tunzorz' or other stuff like that. I want a relatively well-matched race, which is why I picked this car and kept it stock. Using this car will be a bit of a challenge for me.)

I did the 4h just a few days ago. I used the N24 GT-R (stock, with an oil change) with Racing Hard. Refueled (to half full) and change tires at the end of every third lap. I won safely with almost a lap.

At first I didn't know how long I could drive on the tires before thy where worn out so I did about 3 1/2 laps before I felt the front really struggled for grip. (I raced in cockpitview so I couldn't see the tire ware.) For the way back to the pits the car was very hard to drive. (I change the view, temporary, so I could see the status of the tires. The front tires was COMPLETELY worn out, the rears had about 1/5 left). I didn't lose too much time, or even the lead, since the other cars had already pit one time and I had worked up a 40 sec lead.

Good luck with your race!

I did this using a praiano tuned schulze. I pitted every 3 laps using racing softs. Other tire compounds made me lose too much time. Won it handily.

I had no idea you could see tire wear on the cars in third person view or are you talking about telemetry on the left

Yes, I'm talking about the thing to the left that appears when the on-screen speedometer are shown. Sorry if it was unclear in the earlier post.
