you'v driven that track for some hours ehy ;) very nice time! awsome driving

Cheers, thanks.

Yeah, have spent 'some hours' lapping The Ring since GT4 (I guess that makes it approx 6 years' of practice;)). Doing it in GT5 with G25, new physics, in HD & 5.1 sound is a joy. Domo Arigato Yamauchi-san.

Hope to afford a real visit & real drive in Nurburgring one day, but GT5 will do for now:)

You could probably stretch the gears and do some more downforce, doesn't seem like the car is lacking in power at all.

Yeah, thanks for the tip...you are right, the GT-R Stealth has plenty more power in store... just upgraded tyres to racing softs and turned traction control off for this lap. Been leaving the Stealth cars in default stock mode & haven't played around with tuning as yet.... just loving the new physics and driving around unlocking the game at the moment.

GT5 is a wonderful evolution since GT1 (my very first console game all those years ago).

Cheers mate:tup:

Yeah, no problem. I know the Stealth cars pack more power than the original. SuperGT cars aren't geared for high top speed because of Japanese tracks. The longest straight they see is Fuji. And at Fuji they'll hit maybe 180. They concentrate a lot more on acceleration so the gearing isn't very long. So with that in mind and the fact that Nurb has a long straight and some long flat out sections, stretching the gears out could result in at least 200mph.

Thanks mate, appreciate technical analysis like this to justify tuning decisions. Reading the APEX book at the moment that has a section that explains tuning options....I'm still a noob when it comes to customising gear ratios. Cheers man, will seek you for advice when I start wanting the cars to do more to chase that 0.00x seconds. 👍

is your abs off? you almost dont brake very subtle braking

Hi mate,

Had ABS => 1 & racing soft tyres. Car's settings are default stock, and all other assists off so the car's full potential does not get limited. Will try with ABS off, but brakes on my G25 setup is so sensitive, and there is no option in the game to change G25 settings.

Learnt the subtle braking from chasing Gold time in the Nurburgring (Wet) challenge with the 300SL in AMG Special Events. Not an easy challenge to Gold if braking too much. Will post video of the gold lap tonight.

Great lap, I started using a wheel last night, and I couldnt break 9:30. I was getting low 7's w/ DS3.

I have stretched the gears out in my stealth gtr, and it says top speed 273 but I can not get over 207 mph. I have upgraded to stage 3 turbo and whatever other upgrades you can do to it. But at least when you stretch it past 211 it doesnt bounce off the rev limiter

The SuperGT cars have a good deal of downforce, which limits top speed. So take some wing off it if you want to go faster.

I made it in 6:59:789, with my Mazda 787B Stealth!!:)

Congrats running sub 7 minutes lap...try going for 6:30.xxx, I reckon the Mazda 787B Stealth can do it. I used that car at Indy to grind for EXP points, she's a fast car.

All assists are turned off? I had ABS=1 with racing softs, no upgrades & default stock settings, and aimed to not over-brake, staying smooth through corners and maintaining momentum/high mid-corner speed.

Agree....I found this car draggy through some high speed sections of Nordschleife...however, taking off too much wing might compromise cornering speed & overall lap time
