So i'm setting up a nice arcade race for the ring and just wondering what time of day you guys think is the best.

Personally I like starting super early in the morning and changing the time progression to max. This way you get to experience the full day/night cycle. If you want just one set time try 5 or 6 am. Some parts of the track are still a little dark for an extra bit of challenge but still nice and bright and pretty otherwise.

It'll be different for most people. Try doing a few day and night cycles and you'll know when you enjoyed driving the most. Personally, I like driving into Dawn the most.

Depends on the number of laps. I like 20:30, you start in dawn and it'll be dark after a few laps.

20:30, 50% weather (some clouds, but make sure it doesn't rain) and the 24H layout. Epic sunset.

I also like the morning hours, sometimes there's a bit of mist if you got the right weather settings (probably around 50% again).

Cool i'll try it out.

I like starting around half 4 in the morning, I absolute adore the sunrise on the 'ring.

If you're running high time progression I'd say start mid afternoon, get a few laps in during the light and then run through the night, ending on the sunrise.

It really depends on the amount of laps you're going to do I guess.

EDIT: Dean and I are on the same wavelength it seems

My favourite is on the Nurburgring 24 hour track with time set to 19:20, & time change left at 10. Set weather change to 0, & weather to either 0, 25, 0r 50% (as long as there's no rain). Surface water at 0 as well.

This will give you 1 lap with a very nice day to night transition. I love to take a stock Lotus Esprit V8 Premium on Sports Hard, or Comfort Soft, & just go for a drive. EPIC!!!

:D

PS: Try setting the weather tp 75% but without rain. You might have to reset it several times before it gives it to you. If you manage to get it, go for a drive in the daytime, it looks awesome with loads of fog!

At night, in the dry though. Even if you know the track fairly well, it just feels totally different. Requires quite a lot more concentration, so it's fun but exhausting ;-)
At night, in the rain : no thanks, not really a leisurely drive

Any variation that has sunrise or sunset. I didn't realize that when you set weather to different percentages it would only change it to be more overcast etc. I thought it would make it a 50% chance of rain. Thanks for the info guys, psyched to try for some fog runs!
