But was it F1 Nurburgring or Nurburgring Nordschleife?

And another site has pictures of tracks for F355 Challenge 2 on DreamCast including ...

I hope so, cause you can see it in the Nordschleife´s background of GT4. It would be a nice surprise.

Yeah, that's the F1 course. It would be interesting to see it in GT4.. that would make a neat "separation" between the Nurburgring and the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Pity the Nordscheife course hasn't shown up yet.. but at least this is one more reason to pine incessantly for GT4! :)

Wait wait wait ... "Nordschleife" is the big one right? Because the big 8 (??) mile track is definitely in GT4.

I think he meant in other games.

Yeah, there's two "Nurburgring" tracks.. right next to each other as I recall. There's the "Nurburgring", which is the F1 course.. around 2 miles, give or take. Then there's the Nurburgring Nordschleife, the 13-mile course that's in GT4.

And that sums up everything I know about this course.. lol. I remember that one, or both, of them are no longer used for racing because of how dangerous they were, but I don't recall which one they were talking about. Makes it great for video games, though, because it's quite impossible to get hurt or killed whilst playing. :)

There is actually another part of the old Nordschleife called the Sudschleife but sometime during the 70's it was destroyed in order to build the new GP track.

Actually the 'Ring appeared in Project Gotham Racing 2 on XBox as far as I know (http://xbox.ign.com/objects/482/482233.html?fromint=1), but apparently, it's a really bad depiction of the course in some places. If you look at GTChamp2003's post and the map of the "New" Nordschleife there's a turn in the upper-right corner of the picture called Karusell. In real life, that's a corner with a fair bank to it, about 15-20° from what I've heard (don't quote me on it), but in PGR2 it's really really innacurate because the corner is far narrower in than in real life and nowhere near as banked.

Oh yeah, and LoudMusic (I think it's you who put the map up, sorry if it isn't), the Nurburgring used by F1 has been revamped so that Turns 1 and 2 are a whole lot tighter in a section called the Mercedes Arena. Makes a bland track somewhat more interesting I hear.

Do you race?

Yes the Nordschleife is included in PGR2, but Jedi asked if any PS/PS2 game had it.

Yeah, I think I heard that PGR2 had it.. but, don't have an Xbox.. hehe. I do have a GameCube, though. :)
Oh, good. I heard F-Zero has a futuristic version of Nordschleife. :p

The F1 Nurburgring is used extensivly for racing, in is a regular on the F1, DTM (German Touring cars) and GT series; as well as being used for a number of other smaller/support races.

The Nurburgring Nordschleife is still used for racing, but on a very limited basis, mainly for the Nurburgring 24hrs that is held each year. It was removed from the F1 calander after Nikki Lauda's almost fatal accident at the circuit (he was read the last rites) and driver protests (mainly lead by Jackie Stewart) that the track was unsuitable for F1 cars.

The main use of the Nordschleife today is as a public track and a test bed for manufacturers. It is widely accepted as one of the best tests of a cars handling ability and manufacturers from all over the world put their cars round the 'ring. For example, much of the development of the Skyline was carried out at the 'ring.
