OK, I always thought this was exaggerated in GT4 and GT5 (especially GT5) but holy cow?!? How scary must this be in real life? Surely all cars do not do this? Did it happen to this GT-R because of poor aerodynamics and do you want this to happen in GT6? It might be understandable for them to do it to the Schulze GT-R but surely a Ferrari or McLaren would not do the same thing would they?

Actually if you look up pictures on it, you'll find cars getting anywhere from an inch to a foot off the ground.

Even this Porsche SUV managed:

Why do you think it's named after an airport?

Yep, pretty common there TBH,

In proper sims you need to short-shift to a higher gear before it so you won't over-rev the engine, not really necessary in GT5, we'll see what GT6 brings,

Did that car make it out of there in one piece? It seems like its headed straight for the grass ...or is going to be out of control as soon as it lands. This pic would make a perfect subject for a "Guess what happened next" competition :).

Pretty sure it did. It was Hans Stuck on his way to earning pole position in 1974. :D

You're not worried about the Lotus above it?

I don't think the OP is understanding the physics of this. Any car can go airborne. The GT-R isn't doing a 'wheelie'. The rear end is being pushed down by the rear spoiler, through downforce, so it's trying to descend back to the ground faster than the front is.

The Lotus looks photoshopped. I can't put my finger on why though.

I guess that's what happens if you don't quite get the throttle lift right, pitching the car forwards. The humps and bumps were more severe and more numerous over the track back then, too.

There's a similar attitude displayed here, from a different angle. The two cars are very similar, being "lower formula" chassis (probably F2 - they could both be Lotus 48s, actually). Maybe their lower weight makes them more susceptible to the rotation imparted at "launch".

Never mind the nutter in the bushes...

Oh I understand how it's entirely physically possible. I found out why I got the impression it was shopped - I've seen a similar photo that is definitely altered.

Grand Prix spectating is certainly different now!

I don't now if this is on "Flugplatz" but it's on Nürburgring

Yes that is at Flugplatz.

You don't really notice it much when you drive on it for real concentrating hard, you anticipate, position the car and react to it.... well that's what I do anyway.

...

Yeah, I saw that one, too - it's definitely altered:

Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill (edited in) in (the same) BRM P261, in case anyone's curious. :dopey:
(Legendary footage, with glorious sound, of Stewart in that car can be seen and heard in the movie Grand Prix - an example.)

And I thought GT was 🤬 me the whole time since the first time I played on GT3's Seattle with those jumps

After seeing the KAZ trailer, I find out I was wrong :nervous:
