Did a Search and I kind of found that GTP isnt really into the 'iPod' scene judging by the return search results..... But I hoping someone can help..

Ok......I reciently bought a ipod and decided to buy an iTrip..... I bought the white one...cos well I have the white one! Everything was fine and it was transmitting audio quality that was not displeasing me... it was fine and I was enjoying it in the car.....

A few days later my mate bought a black iTrip to go with his U2 iPod and for some reason the audio quality it transmits is far superior!!! :grumpy: I could really not believe it! His has less distorted bass noise and a crisper sound!

We tested both iTrip's on both iPod's using the same songs, radio etc etc.... we tried everything and it still proved that mine was rubbish! :( Testing the iTrip Mini also proved to have equal if not better sound quality than mine.....

Which means it could be one of the following...

1. My iTrip is damaged in some way (this I don't believe cos it is basically working fine apart from the sound difference)

2. I have an 'older' iTrip (out of the new designed ones) .... which were introduced for the 3G version. The Mini and Black iTrip may have been tweaked to solve problems....

3. It is the new one and it's all in my head and there is no problem..... if its slighty more distorted then they are probably all slighty different due to workmanship...

4. The Black one is better because its cooler!

Basically i'm really not happy......I didnt expect there to be any difference...If the black one is technically better then it is false advertising by griffin....

I know your going to say......the quality is rubbish and wire it to your car.....WELL...I may do now!

Can anyone please help..... I am going to try and find someone with a white iTrip and compare but I think that it is wrong for one to be better!

Thanks in Advance......Robin

Sorry don't take this the wrong way but you are another "sucker" to me... Anyway, I've had a lot of experience with "transmitters" and I would first off like to recommend you play with the sound volume levels on both the iPod and the radio your using that. That's the first thing I think of when there's "distortion". The next thing I'd try is a different station because contrary to popular believe reception can be hit or miss. If it's not any of those check the connection between the iPod and iTrip. Also, sometimes it's better to be farther away to the antenna than closer. A last resort find the antenna area in the iTrip and put your finger/hand on it and the reception might get better because you become an antenna (side effects may be cancer but hey anything could do that :sly: ). One last recomendation... you could take that "reception booster" made for cell phones and stick it on the iTrip to see if that improves anything. Hope these help.
