Odd Exhaust Placement

When I put a racing exhaust on my GT-R today, I took it out for a spin and noticed that instead of the exhaust tips being in their normal places,they were simply put in this random place on the rear bumper! It looks like somebody took a saw and hacked a hole in the bumper then threw the system in! Has anybody seen this on other cars?:confused:

I can back up the bit about the GT-R pipes. They stick out just below and to the left of the rear plate, in a hole cut out from the rear bumper.

There's also some metal surrounding the pipes.


The only other weird one I've seen is the Murcielago exhaust. I think the basic (cheapest) will just put two bigger cylinders inside the single large (stock) exhaust. The top exhaust option replaces that entirely with two large (but still relatively tiny) pipes.
 
A lot of cars change the exhaust position, I actually think it makes sense on the GT-R, because the pipes come straight out of the engine, on the newer Camaro it looks ridiculous, because the pipes are too small.
