Odd Freeze-Ups

I was just in an Arcade Race at Cote D'Azur on Pro Difficulty using the Altezza RS200. It was on the first lap and I was coming up through the field. When we reached the top of the hill and were going into the left turn, the Motorsport Elise slid out into the wall then came back across the track. I hit him and he slid further towards the inside in front of the other traffic. Thats where the game froze up at. Its weird though because the controller is still rumbling violently from when I hit the Elise, and I can still hear my car's engine sound. On top of that, the song continued to play until it ended.

Anyone care to share any weird experiences they had when the game froze up?
 
When i broke through the track at Seattle with my escudo, it did the wheelie and once it hit 2 billion+ the game froze but the needle kept revving and the controler was still rumbling.
The same thing also happend when i caused a pile up and the last 90 degree turn on laguna seca.
 
is my ps2 the only one on earth that doesn't freeze?
it's never done anything even relatively wrong.
lucky me.
 
my ps2 never freezes unless i do something to make it, i've had mine since 2001 (december 26 to be exact).
