Odd Pixelation in Firefox and Explorer menu bars

I just noticed this a few minutes ago, but I have no idea if it has been this way for a while or not.

If you would just direct your attention to the red square...



You'll notice that the menus appear to be one shade of gray on the left, and another on the right. And then they are kinda scattered within the box.

The same thing is there in Explorer and IE7 windows.

Ideas?

Well, I figured it out.

He has the colors set to 16 bit instead of 32 bit. The pallete for the gradient requires 32 bit colors to be smooth, otherwise it has to start subbing in already used values, thus the odd pixelation.

Its the same reason why gradients look like crap when converted to GIF format.
 
Odd that 16bit would have been the default values after reinstalling my nVidia drivers. And everything else appeared just fine. :P
