% of total forum posts

Just added a new feature to everyone's profile page showing the total percent of messages they have posted in all posts at GTPlanet. Right now, Josh has the highest percentage, with 6.21%. Pretty cool, huh?

Yeah, I was trying to set this up last night, but there was an error causing the actual percentage to be multiplied by a few thousand. So, I took it down for the night, but forgot to update the profile template which still showed the slash. Sorry about that!

I have 3.71% of all posts. Nowhere near Josh but Ill get there someday I like to think.

This is pretty cool. I noticed it a couple hours ago. I laughed though, because the longer we're all here, the smaller the percentages will get, because there will be more and more members.

Hey, I wonder if there's an easy way to get a "words to posts" ratio. We could see who puts the most into their posts (: Then there could be a way to sort by that ratio. I would default the value to zero until the member had at least 50 posts or something, though. There might also be a way to have it just count total words. We could see who's posted the most words total. I don't know how it would define a "word" though. It's hard to do that in an automated fasion. I guess it could look for all strings that are "<space>something". That seems like it would do a fair job of defining words.

Whoa, now that would require some major hacking! A good idea, though, I'm sure it can be done somehow...

Have to make sure that when you quote someone else, it's not added to your total though! Good luck on that one, major respect if you pull it off!

Heh heh, I guess so (: This addition is pretty simple though. Just divide user's posts by total posts. I like it though, it shows us how much of the whole "discussion" that we're contributing to.
