Im gonna track her from now on, i have never heard of her before but she seems like a good racer, and shes british, and she lives 40 mins away from me. :)👍
OMG therez this girl chik i herd about whoze testing in F1!!!1111 Awesome :)

*ahem*

My bet is she’ll probably test the car, spend another season in Atlantics then spend the rest of her career in Champ Car being hailed as the first female champion before she wins anything…

Lol can you say that without sounding anymore sexist though blake?

Damn, I'm tired of hearing people ripping Robby Gordon for his comments about Danica. Question: Why do F1 teams worry about the amount of fuel other cars carry? Less fuel = less weight = faster car. Using the same logic, a smaller driver = less weight = faster car.

Robby wasn't slamming Danica's ability to drive a race car. He was just saying that it is unfair to weigh the cars without the driver, when every other series in the world figures the driver in with the weight of the car, and that the IRL is so competitive (artificially so) that a weight difference (even a small one) gives someone an unfair advantage.

The IRL of course won't do anything to rectify this because they want Danica to win and gain more publicity for their series.

And I'm tired of seeing stick-and-ball morons on ESPN (PTI) who know nothing about racing outside of hillbillly taxicabs praising Danica like she's the second coming (ignoring drivers who are actually winning races) and then turning around and criticizing her because she hasn't won yet. I just want to scream at them: "She's a rookie, give her time, for God's sake!"

While I agree on principle, I think it is very different in practice. I mean, apart from anything else, driving an F1 car is a hell of a lot different to driving a Toyota Atlantic car.

And why do I see this thread turning into a Katherine Legge fan club…

Blake

 @ the fanclub.

But, anyway, when I saw her racing the Atlantics, she didn't just win, she DOGWALKED the entire grid. And she pulled some RAD passes too.

I'm not saying she's gonna be a Fernando(-a) Alonso in like her 1st test, but I think she worthy enough. Better than Sato, at least.

well, i'll just say something because i dont have time to read this whole thing now... i think danica is way over rated and needs to actually win some races before i'll like her. i think legge is a good drivier though she has done well in the toyota atlantic series. she needs to go to champ cars first though. the difference between toyota atlantics and f1 is to big. i'd much rather see legge then danica is f1 though.

now just to be a little sexist, legge has that accent thing going for her. works for me anyway...

Dude...regardless of Robby Gordon's comments on Danica he is a whiney baby. He has been complaining for years in NASCAR. This year it's been worst. The thing with Waltrip was the last straw for me. The guy is a loser and makes excuses for his lack of results....

Waltrip caused that wreck. Robby was taking the normal line out of the corner and Waltrip held his car as low as it would go, not the normal racing line. Robby had every right to be angry (and that includes helmet throwing), but no right to use his car as a weapon.

I look at Robby Gordon as a throwback to the old school drivers who could get in anything and do well. He's done off-road racing (I wish he would try the Paris-Dakar again), Indy car racing, stock cars, sports cars, etc. He's also not a PC robot like the rest of the hillbilly taxicab crowd. His only mistake was going to a series where the powers-that-be will never let him win one.

But back to the topic...I can see Legge getting a Champ Car test, but an F1 test? She's only in Toyota Atlantics, for crying out loud! But I suppose that's not an issue anymore, since Raikkonen went from Formula somethingorother to F1.

Ok, I'll admit...as much as I follow NASCAR (not that much) I'm a #15 fan if I am asked to name one driver I like. I actually watched that race. I can't agree with your call of it. Sure Waltrip held the car low...but alot of guys were doing that that day. Beyond this one wreck, Robby has been full of excuses for most of his NASCAR life. I'll even give him the benefit of a doubt with his new team this season. Yes he is a great road course driver, but in NASCAR that doesn't really mean much. I can't figure out why RG is in NASCAR in the first place. Bajas, Dakaar, ralley raids and the like seem much more his style...pikes peak, etc etc. He is good enough at all of those to make a good living.

I will admit I was cheering for him in last years Dakaar.

Well, agree to disagree, I suppose. To be honest, I don't follow NASCAR (I used to, but I hate what NASCAR has become.) and didn't watch that race, but caught the incident on the numerous replay shows SPEED fills its schedule with.

Why is Robby Gordon in NASCAR? Money. NASCAR is the place to make a fortune by making up the numbers. You can go without winning for 10 years, but if you're marketable, you're still in the series.

Yeah, Robby was doing great in Dakar last year 'til he had that end-over-end. And even after that, he was still one of the quickest. I wish he'd give it another shot. For me, it would be really cool to see a Yank win that.
