BlakeWhile I agree on principle, I think it is very different in practice. I mean, apart from anything else, driving an F1 car is a hell of a lot different to driving a Toyota Atlantic car.
And why do I see this thread turning into a Katherine Legge fan club

MulsanneDamn, I'm tired of hearing people ripping Robby Gordon for his comments about Danica. Question: Why do F1 teams worry about the amount of fuel other cars carry? Less fuel = less weight = faster car. Using the same logic, a smaller driver = less weight = faster car.
Robby wasn't slamming Danica's ability to drive a race car. He was just saying that it is unfair to weigh the cars without the driver, when every other series in the world figures the driver in with the weight of the car, and that the IRL is so competitive (artificially so) that a weight difference (even a small one) gives someone an unfair advantage.
The IRL of course won't do anything to rectify this because they want Danica to win and gain more publicity for their series.
And I'm tired of seeing stick-and-ball morons on ESPN (PTI) who know nothing about racing outside of hillbillly taxicabs praising Danica like she's the second coming (ignoring drivers who are actually winning races) and then turning around and criticizing her because she hasn't won yet. I just want to scream at them: "She's a rookie, give her time, for God's sake!"
MulsanneWaltrip caused that wreck. Robby was taking the normal line out of the corner and Waltrip held his car as low as it would go, not the normal racing line. Robby had every right to be angry (and that includes helmet throwing), but no right to use his car as a weapon.
I look at Robby Gordon as a throwback to the old school drivers who could get in anything and do well. He's done off-road racing (I wish he would try the Paris-Dakar again), Indy car racing, stock cars, sports cars, etc. He's also not a PC robot like the rest of the hillbilly taxicab crowd. His only mistake was going to a series where the powers-that-be will never let him win one.
But back to the topic...I can see Legge getting a Champ Car test, but an F1 test? She's only in Toyota Atlantics, for crying out loud! But I suppose that's not an issue anymore, since Raikkonen went from Formula somethingorother to F1.
