I haven't even really looked at the 600RR's yet. They do look damn near exactly like the R6.:odd: I do like how the exhaust has been tucked underneath the tail of the bike, though.

I think that yellow 600RR would look badass with a full carbon fiber tail.

There is to much extra plastic back there. Plus I can see what they are trying to do, hide the exhaust pipe, but there something about a sport bike, that requires a big side, or dual exhaust pipes. Why hide an accent like that? JMO that is.

The same thing could be said for the car market. It all relates.

About the Exhaust.. its place in the back so the weight is evenly distruputed.. lol.. that way its the same weight on both sides u know what i mean?

I went to a Yamaha dealership today with my friend Rodney just so he could look at some dirtbikes. I was fine until I walked inside and saw not one, but two R6's sitting there side-by-side. One was the blue, and the other the limited edition black/red flames.:( I sat on the limited edition for about 20 minutes. I talked to one of the salesman, he was a really nice guy. We talked the entire time I was on the bike. Said insurance would be about $60-80 a month. He wanted $8,000 even. I asked about payments, and he said that if I did some 8.59% APR for 5 years the payments would only be about $160-170/month. Forget that!:D I'd rather just pay for it in whole. They had a red '02 R1 there, and wanted $7,500 for it, but I don't like R1's that much and I don't want a used bike.

I wanted to ride the R6, but they didn't have the ignition connected so it wouldn't start, and he really didn't want to connect it.:irked: He asked if I was interested in riding his own personal silver '03 FZ1 he had sitting out front, but I declined. The riding position was too upright for my tastes. I'm sure it's damn fast though, with it's 1,000cc motor.

Bah, basically...I just want a bike like 400 times more than I did yesterday.:P

Sorry Magic.:D

I'm serious, though, you should really just go to sit on one, and check it out. Yes it will suck when it's time to leave with no new R6, but damn....it's worth it for the time you get to spend with it at the dealership.;)

The Ducati 999r. One of the sweetest bikes I've found. To bad they only made 800 and its 30k out the door with the racing package on it. *sigh* I want one.

How bout' a 500cc scooter heh?
I think its cool.

Does anyone know if the chin fairing on the '03 SV1000S would bolt right up to a '03 SV650S? I'm considering getting a new bike, and I'm not really leaning towards the R6 as much as I used to.

The first one is an SV1000S - second an SV650S. Notice the additional fairing piece on the SV1000S? Would it be possible to swap that onto a SV650S? Someone has to know, or has to be willing to search for the answer for my lazy ass.:P

Time to drag the ole' bike thread up.:P

After going to Champion Yamaha(or some crap) Tuesday I decided it's time to buy a new bike so I can get back into riding. They had an '04 red/black/white R6, and three blue '04's there. I liked all of them a lot, but the used anthracite colored 954RR outside of the dealership reminded me how damn good the Honda's look. Then I started thinking about how nice the 929RR is, and how badass it looks. Then I knew what I had to do - buy another Honda! One with less power than the 929, though.

I checked out a black '03 600RR in the bike trader, but the paint was ****ed up on the tail section because the owner's brother dropped it. That was the only 600RR in the trader so I looked at the next best thing Honda had out on the market(also the bike I've loved since I was 15/16) - the F4i. Champion Honda(owned by the same dude as the Yamaha place) has a 2002 yellow/black for $5950, but it has like 7,000 miles, or something. Too much for year/mileage. I could get a 2003 with 1,500 miles for $300 more.

Tomorrow me and my Dad are taking a road trip to NC to look at about 6 different F4i's up there. We're taking the enclosed bike trailer with us, so chances are we aren't coming home until we've found a bike.

There will be pictures. Oh, yes, plenty of pictures. Perhaps even some with me in them.:mischievous:

Any of you guys ride? If so let's hear some stories, and see some pictures. Now!

Anyhoo, wish me luck finding a bike, and to have a safe trip with my Dad.👍 Take it easy everyone. -Joshua

What a let down. We ended up only looking at 3 bikes. The first was a silver/black '01 F4i up in Florence, SC that, over the phone, the kid told us was perfect. No scratches. No dents. Never been down, never been wrecked. 3,000 miles. Polished wheels, etc. We get to it, and the wheels weren't polished, they had been sanded with brillow pads, and had some aircraft strength stripper **** put on them. Then we see all the scratches in the tank, the scratches on the headlights, the ****ing HUGE road rash on the clutch fluid resivoir thingie(or whatever the hell that black box thingie is left of the throttle, just below the top of the windshield). Then we notice the rash on the clutch cover, and the stator cover, and we notice areas on the frame where there are large amounts of road rash. I could tell my Dad was pissed because we just hauled a ****ing bike trailer 139 miles(getting 11mpg) for nothing. I told my Dad to ride it up the road for a minute to check it out, and see how it road(at this point neither of us would have bought it, I just wanted him to get somewhat of a feel for the F4i's). As he was backing out of the kid's garage he turned the bars to the right, and we heard a grinding noise, and noticed that the headlights were shorting out. He rides off, and I said nothing to the kid for about 3 minutes, and out of nowhere I just said, "You honestly believe someone's going to give you $5,200 for that?" He said, "Yeah, why not? Look at it." I said, "Are you serious?" I could go and buy an '03 with 300 miles in PERFECT condition for $6,300. I wouldn't even give you $3,000 for that bike." Then the ***** started getting all mouthy, and almost got his ass ****ed up behind his grandma's double wide, but my Dad rode back up. The first thing my Dad said was, "Look at this ****. When I'm riding straight, my right hand is almost touching the tank because these bars are so ****ed up. Derek, not only has this bike been down, but it appears as though someone dropped it out the back of a low flying airplane a few times." We left shortly after that. Very pissed off.

There was some other crap with that kid Derek, too. He said the bike had 3,000 miles on it, but the odo said 900. He was like, "Well, uhh, the previous owner had problems with the guages shorting out so he had to get a new set, but I can show you the title, or something, where it shows the last one's had 2,100 on them." He also showed us a receipt for some **** he had bought for it a week ago. "see, look, I just bought some new plugs for it last week." I said, "Derek, a 3,000 mile F4i wouldn't need new plugs if the damn thing had been flipped end over end, and upside down with oil leaking down into the plugs/cylinders fowling **** up." Ugh. This all happened like 12 hours ago, and I'm still pissed.

We only ended up looking at two other bikes. A yellow/black '04 F4i that the ****ing idiot wanted more for used with 1,800 miles than I could buy a brand new 0 mile one for. And the other was a yellow/black '02 F4i that the guy said hadn't ever been dropped, or ever been crashed. Said it had 6,400 miles even on it. We get there, the bike is dirty as ****, it has deep gouges on both side of the fairings right below the frame sliders which were obviously added after the tard dropped/wrecked it, and it had 8,220 miles on it. It was built in July of '01 which technically makes it an '02, but I don't play that ****. Dude wanted full retail($5,900) for this bike, and it wasn't even really an '02. ****er.

I just don't understand why people feel the need to lie. When I sell something I take elventy billion pictures of it, and let everyone know of everything that is wrong with it(if anything) beforehand. I don't like to waste people's time, but apparently other people do. **** 'em.

Anyhoo, my Dad actually has to work Tomorrow and Sunday, so no motorcycle shopping until after that. Meh. Sorry for the long post.

Huh?:odd: I'm not sure what you're asking.

I'm not too sure about the R6's anymore. I love the ay they look, but they're not all that comfortable(not that any sportbike really is).

Did you mean the 929RR I have? If so I still have it. It's been in storage(not sure why anymore as we have plenty of room for it in our garages) forever. I prefer to get an F4i, or something smaller, because the 929 scares the living hell out of me everytime I ride it. It's just waaay too fast.

We still have the Harley, and I have still not been able to ride it. My Dad only rides it about once a month, if that. I wouldn't even ride it if he would let me. It's in perfect condition, and if I even put the smallest nick or scratch in it I would never hear the end of it.

My Dad bought another bike not too long ago. Probably like 3 months ago. It's a 1984 Honda VF 1000. It's an old school sportbike, I guess. For some reason my Dad likes bikes like that, so he just had to have it. I guess he likes them because that was what was cool when he was younger. I've ridden it a bunch, and with 116hp it's decently fast. It would be faster if it had better gearing, and didn't weigh in at 600 something pounds wet.
