Alright, here's the deal. This thread is pretty much going to be a scoreboard to see who on GTP has the fastest processor. We're doing this based on Super Pi Mod, which calculates how fast your processor can calculate pi.

Follow these steps:

1. Download Super Pi

2. Extract the .exe file and pi_data.txt to anywhere on your computer (as long as they are in the same folder).

3. Run Super Pi

4. You should now see this screen:

5. Click on "Calculate (C)" in the upper left corner.

6. Choose 1M from the drop down list.

7. Let the loops run.

8. Go back to this screen when it is finished:

9. Post a screenshot of that screen to verify your 1M times.

The fastest ever recorded is something like 12.125s on an overclocked E6700 Conroe chip.

LEADERBOARD RULES

1. You MUST verify your time with a screenshot.

2. All times are welcome, don't feel ashamed.

3. (OPTIONAL) Please tell us your processor, memory, power supply, and motherboard if you can.

4. (NEW) Only 1 entry will be accepted. If you submit mutliple entries, your fastest entry will be counted.

5. (NEW) To see system specifications, click the link to each contestant's times. Some may not have specs listed.

This sucks.

You can only run the test on a single core.

Edit: You can run two instances at the same time, as long as you set the affinity and name differently on each instance, although the score isn't really that accurate (the application wasn't meant for use on dual-core processors, and doesn't run as well as it could on them). I'll upload my scores in a bit anyways.

Bah, I'm over 1 minute on a P4 2.40 with HT and 512 ram. I've got a new laptop coming in about a week with a core 2 duo and 1gb of ram, I'll post that one for your little contest :)

2'19.961 on my old Compaq with a 1.2Ghz AMD proc and 768MB RAM on an ancient motherboard. I'll post a real entry tomorrow. :sly:

My work computer (2.0ghz celeron, 256MB Ram) is slow as hell. I'll do it on my home computer later as well.

AMD Athlon 64 3800+, 1GB RAM, 2x 250GB Western Digital in RAID0, ABIT AV8, Antec 500W PSU.

I've an Athlon X2 4800+ and another 2GB RAM coming soon. I'll rerun it then.

Better get out the broom, MachOne.

Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz
Patriot eXtreme Performance 1GB DDR2 at 800Mhz
Gigabyte GA-P965-DS3 mobo
Leadtek Geforce 7900GT 256MB.

Edit: Fixed the image, is now full size.

More like the magnifying glass. Sheesh.

Can we start putting the times in your post guys? It sucks having to go into the pictures to update the leaderboard, especially when the picture is ridiculously small *cough*Ebiggs*cough*.

Edit:

Improved by 2 tenths or so..

You suck at doing screenshots, but that is one fast CPU !... 👍

Sorry about that picture, I think imageshack must have resized it because it is 1280x1024 on my PC.
