You're right.. My mistake - I had read somewhere that the only difference was PCI2.0. 680i however is still only compatible with 65nm quads.

I'm not too concerned about switching to a quad core, anyways. One of the new E series will be fine if I need a new CPU within a year or whatever. Right now I need a better GPU.

That's true, my 8600GTS is fine for the moment, but I think it'll run out of power long before my E6600 will.

I did this just for fun on my Dell Latitude d600 laptop (crap). My dad has a quad core but its my dads and I could never test it. I had firefox, msn, music, folders and other small programs running during the test

Well this is my ASUS laptop with a Intel Core 2 Quad @2GHz, 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3, and has a Geforce GT 240M with 1GB of DDR3.

It's much, much faster than my parent's computer. I haven't even overclocked this laptop yet but I can't really do a overclock because my laptop has a restricted type bios. My laptop is powerful enough that I don't really need to overclock it.
