Ok. I don't do much investigating with these sort of things so I ask first. I had no idea there was a TP setting. Thanks. So when TP is selected tires and brake balance are two items that can be changed? And will you be setting the open lobby to tuning prohibited?

That's correct, you can only change tires and brake balance. I will be setting my lounge and the open lobby to tuning prohibited.

My lounge is open now with all the correct settings if anyone wants to practice. I'll be there around 8pm EST.

If you are looking for something to watch Top Gear 50 Years of Bond Cars is out and it great
.
Also Top Gear Worst Car in the History of the World dvdrip torrent is up somewhere on the internets but it has not been released on Dvd/Bluray in North America yet :(.

The Z06 RM was a lot of fun tonight, I actually liked it on default set-up.

Hhhmmmmmm, we were racing ZR1's. :-D

Good job on the win. Congrats to JT for the other win.

See you don't have to tune a car to have fun. You also proved you don't need TCS or ABS to win.

I've been showing that Aston clip for days. I agree that TC is a very real part of racing. Well F1 aside. F1's are an entirety different fish however. The thing is that most see it as a crutch when in fact it's to obtain the most traction most of the time, cut grip loss and be on throttle more. GT5 does not help demonstrate that very well. So our loss.

I know TCS and ABS exist in racing. The few times I get to host a race I like to test the ability of our racers without the crutch of tuning or control aids.

Happy "FOUL" day....

In GT5, I am not sure you can lock the wheels up with ABS at 1 or greater. That is the beauty of running 0 ABS. Gives you a bit more to think about.

What?!
In the prototypes traction control works exactly the way it should in the only way it should - Preservation of tires.

It only stopd the smallest amount of wheel spin helping your tires go that extra couple of laps if you accelerate out of corners smooth and not 100% throttle all the time. Floor it too soon and the tires will still go red and you are still going to spin out.

TCS in GT5 is more like restriction of throttle than addition of grip.

Exactly how it works for Le Mans , TCS in a road car is a function of the ABS system.

Straight from the 2012 FIA Sporting Regulations.
Near the top of page 5 under Electronic Systems

" A traction control system operating exclusively on the
engine, and operating on the STSY if it is connected to the
rear wheels, is authorised. "

STSY - Rechargeable Energy Storage System.. aka Kers / Hybrid System

Ok well...GT5 has a shi tty model of TCS. Is that better? I highly doubt that when TCS is working in real life the RPM's dip and bog as in GT5. The cars kind of, just well...keep going in real life. I certainly didn't hear the Aston bog down 3000 RPM when TC was working.

Get on over to my Le Mans thread and join us. Well, your already on, "the list".

I actually have a question regarding this series... for Indy are we entering the pits before turn 3 or after turn 4?

Enter the track on the back straight and you can enter the pits on the front straight. Just like NASCAR

Okay, enter pits just after turn 4 and enter track after turn 2? Sorry, I don't follow NASCAR so I don't know their rules.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think Indy Cars uses the same pit in/pit out procedure.

I finally set up my b spec and shared my driver. Somebody please take my BOB out for a spin.
