Dodge Viper is a smash hit
Most people would sell their souls to have a Dodge Viper, but 23-year-old Jason Gunther is selling off the chance to destroy his very own Viper.

Gunther needs to raise $500,000 (£283,500) to fund his dream to open a bar, so has launched the website www.smashmyviper.com.

Anyone can buy a bit of destruction, from a meagre key scratch through to drilling holes in the car, and prices start at $100.

"Why not take the thing I have worked all my life for and put it up to be destroyed for others' viewing pleasure?" says IT geek Jason.

If this is his life's work, surely he should just wait until he's 30 or so and he'll be a millionaire?

Alternatively, he could just sell the car and make an appointment with the bank manager, leaving a perfectly innocent Viper for someone else to enjoy.

the videos are painful to watch, especially when you hear the sounds.

:scared:

I've seen the videos, and yes. They are hard to watch.

when does the viper actually get smashed? Keymarks are for girly-men. I bet it'd be a different story if he got his crap compacted.

Why couldn't he just sell the damn thing? I hope he at least keeps the engine intact; it would be a complete waste of a perfectly good engine.

The only way I would pay to damage that car is if that guy is on the hood and I get to drive my 4x4 truck onto him.

Selling it won't get his 500 grand or whatever he wanted.

👍

Each have their own opinions about the Viper, I for one think it is a thing of beauty. But hell, i guess they are only bodypanels and can be replaced once this scheme is finished. He'd just have to shell out for new hood, bumper, quarter panels, etc etc and the car would be perfect, provided they dont put electric saws through brake hoses and stuff like that.

Wouldnt it be funny if people keyed it and smashed it and stuff, and it got like, 40,000$ in damage, but not enough people did it, so he only made like 30-40k? and then he wouldnt have his 500K, and he might even lose money...

Yes, yes it would :sly:

I hope this guy never brings or shows up at a Viper meet unless he has a death wish. I showed Logan this, and all he said was that he's glad his GTS is in Maui and not there.

Wow...that was pretty weak. "Hey look, we're keying a Viper!" Big whoop.

I wanna see them beating this thing with those bats, driving it off-road, doing jumps off of ramps, hitting trees, etc...

Nothing against Vipers, but if you're going to make a big deal about destroying a car, do it right.

Meh it's a decent way to make the money you need.

That's a pretty ingenius way of making cash. What you don't realise is that the Viper is that respected, or even that well known, over in the UK.

And with the car looking like it does, I imagine alot of the payers will be women.
