ohhhh noooo my PS2 does not read GT3 my laser is kind of
broken any tips?

Well........? Ugh........ AND? :odd:

Brinh it to someone who can fix it or if the warrenty is still good get a new one

Well, I think that I heard that there are places that will sell you parts to fix the laser. That means that you could probably take it in to get it fixed. Or you could get in contact with sony. There's probably a little sheet that came in the PS2 box that gives you all kinds of great info.

Also, I think I saw this once before, but finding it would probably require lots of searching.....

good luck on getting it fixed

ok so your laser is dirty and you didnt search for some tips on cleaning it... good job

DoZeRxXx I don't have screws on my PS2 cause I wash it every month since last year it started to jam and I had it 2 years ago.

OUch man...I know what it feels like not having your PS2 around to play GT3...wish I could help yah out but the best bet right now is Sony.

Clean your disc. It might look clean, but there is a lot of dust on it, I bet.

If that doesn't work, try standing your PS2 upright. My Madden Football game wont load when the PS2 is laying flat, but will load up if I stand it up. If that doesn't work, try it completely upside down.

If that doesn't work, buy a laser lens cleaner disc.

If all else fails, ship it to Sony for repairs.

your options: from cheapest to most expensive

1) send it back if it is still under warranty. free
2) buy a dvd lens cleaner £10
3) buy a dvd disc cleaner £10
4) get it repaired if out of warranty £30-£120
5) buy a new console £150 for platinum PS2 with 2 controllers.

Basic Laser Cleaning.

Things Needed:
Flat Head Screw Driver
Phillips Head Screw Driver
Phillips Head Jewlery Screw Driver (have many on hand, i went through three)
Rubbing Alcohol
Que-Tips

Option:
Can of Compressed Air.

1. There are 8 screws hold the case together. Take the very bottom 6 screws out.

2. Slide the top half of the towards you, having the disc tray point at you.

3. Lift at an angle to the right, so you dont damage the control strip that works the buttons.

4. lay the top of the shell to the right of the ps2, having it opened like a book, the ribbon being the binding.

5. Use the jewelry sized screw drivers to remove the disc tray cover.

6. (Option) Use a can of compressed are to clear the top half from dust.

7. Poor some rubbing alcohol (70%) into a small cup and wet one end of the que-tip with it.

8. Rub the lense in circles with the wet end for about 30 seconds, give or take.

9. Use the dry end of the que-tip to dry off the lense.

10. put housing back together, remember, long screws go to the bottom (verticaly speaking) and short go to the top.

All else fails you may need a new laser, new game, or re-adjust the voltage on your ps2.

Try slapping it with your hand a couple of times. That's what I did to mine and on came GT3.

it took me an hour, but i also went through 2 of those little jewelry screw drivers..

I just had the same problem last month. I got my PS2 1st day it came out (preordered it). Last month it stopped reading all my games. I called sony sent it in and they fixed it for nothing. All together from the day I shipped it to the day I got it back was 19 days.

The moral of the story... Sony friggin' rocks! Give 'em a call. Hope this helps. Good luck man, I feel for you.:(

The exact same thing happened to me!!! all i did was call sony ( the #'s in the book that u get with the PS2) n i shiped it to them n they said i would get in back in 3 weeks but it only took 5 days n it was fixed!

but how much did you have to pay since your waranty went out?

Didn't have to pay anything man. All I had to pay for was the shipping to them. that's it. I don't know why it was free, but my guess is that Sony cares about their customers and realise that if treated right, they will continue to buy from them. If that was their intention then it worked on me. All I buy is Sony electronics. NO, I do not work for Sony:lol:
