Oh, the incompetence: One reason why people hate microsoft.

I noticed. I was focusing more on people who said Microsoft sux teh worst!

Now that I think of it, sucking the worst actually means that Microsoft is good.
 
Yeah it is. They shouldn't bust their asses to make a quality product if they aren't making money.

Please note that this doesn't mean you don't have a right to complain about the poor quality of all things MSN.
 
I'm speaking on moral grounds. If one offered to run a message board and advertised that his general services are reliable, no differentiating between pay and free services, one would be reasonable in assuming that the free services reliability is equal to that of the pay services. To attempt to entice people, even indirectly, to the use of these services, wherein they can develop relationships, etc., and have it plagued by peculiar errors and problematic fixes is unfair. I know there is choice, but once one chooses, it is not unfair to expect the providers services to be reliable. And there is the matter of being inconvenienced.
 
It annoys me to have errors like crashes, dead pages, and such, but the problem which is the subject of this thread may be more annoying because of it's making no sense. Both may be due to bad programing, but unless some hacker messed with the rules, my problem appears to be intentional in design.
 
I hate it when people say that Microsoft sucks, and just keep *****ing for no reason (not referring to Talentless)...if it sucks so much, get an Apple/Macintosh!!! (roll and eyes)

Of course, this wasn't referring to Talentless...what's an MSN group anyway?

In all seriousness though, while I can't stand Windows, I will be the first to defend some of Microsoft's software, namely its Office suite... Word and Excel are some of the best-written pieces of software in the world.

Talentless, are you sure that the names you wanted weren't already in use? That's probably the reason they weren't going through. For those who don't know what MSN Groups are, they are free communities (message board, chat, photo albums) that anyone can create and build. That's where I got started with GTPlanet.
 
MY first website was created at Geocities with their Yahoo! Dreamweaver-esque creator. I'll find it if Jordan would be so kind to tell me that site that keeps records of websites...
 
my group is just a supplemental page to the official gtp gt2 racing series, which needs more participants btw. I'm moving it over for season 2 because i feel the low attendance kind of clutters up the online racing forum unnecessarily, plus i can have multiple classes and have a cleaner look this way. i plan to post results in the online racing forum. http://groups.msn.com/AStupidGroupName

you can see my anger in the title, sarcasm, too.

i did searches, jordan. I even tried a name like "competitions," all were refused.
 
yeah sure they're a huge company whos software is plagued with glitches but they always release patches...and with the winXP dail update thing it makes it real easy....not to mention the system restore feature which is a life saver when little brothers decide it would be fun to screw with other peoples computer....thank god for passwords.....

The search won't always turn up results, because they have a bad search engine and the option to have your community listed in the search engine is turned "off" by default (I think). Just enter the name after http://groups.msn.com/, not including any spaces. So, for example, to see if "competitions" is taken, enter http://groups.msn.com/competitions.



I'll find it if Jordan would be so kind to tell me that site that keeps records of websites...

granted, but one of the titles i tried did not esult in an existing page that way either.
 
I hate people who moan about Microsoft. - Yes Windows may have its faults but Windows in fine until you install something on it. When all you fools install games, programs, spyware: Windows can't handle it.

The best things to do are:

1. Be more careful of what you install.
2. Save your work every ten minutes
3. Backup your computer every so often
4. Reformat atleast once a year (Your would be amazed how much better Windows is after a reformat!)
5. Buy a Mac
6. Fall inlove with linux

These simple steps can help you on your way to being more productive everyday :rolleyes:

Yeah, I can be real productive with nothing but a vanilla Windoze install. Real productive. I'll just type all my letters in Notepad and do all my architectural drawings with Paint. That oughta float like a sack of nickels.

I could go on for days about why Windoze and Micro$oft suck so badly. Literally days. Everything from the ugly interface to the fact that there are at least 3 ways to change any particular system variable, no 2 of which have exactly the same effect, and the 1 which does the best job is hidden in some totally counter-intuitve place and defaults to the stupidest one of the available choices which are never exactly what I want anyway. But I won't.

I'll just fall back on pointing out that, since I'm listed as computer support staff for our local office, I get at least one MICROSOFT SECURITY BULLETIN that is classified as SEVERE ALERT per week. This system has so many exploitation holes in it that it's absolutely pathetic, and each patch usually opens another hole or creates some other conflict. As an OS it is like rotten Swiss cheese.
