Maybe, but it's an insufficient argument. It mostly says using a PC with a windows operating system, which I'm pretty sure most use, recreationally, i.e installing and playing games, is wrong. And there's a general warning about programs. Apparently the common man should be expected to think of every effect, or is it affect, a program will have down to the smallest detail.

Btw, you should never have to save every ten min. for fear of a crash.
 
Exactly. Computers are supposed to simplify things, not give you a new, counterintuitive set of problems to anticipate.
 
I wish I could afford a Mac that suited my needs. But I was given an old HP Pavilion yesterday which I plan to transform into a Linux machine.
 
I want to make something clear, I am not one of those people that thinks the customer is always right. What I am is someone who believes that a service offered should be done with decent effort. Being free is no excuse for poor service, quality, etc. It's not that they owe us compensation despite being free, it's that we do not deserve so much difficulty because of it. It's hard for me to put clearly now, I'll just say that if you give crap expect crass comments in return.

iBooks are $999, and eMacs are only $799. :) Though of course I have no clue what your plans are in using them for (though I can attest that my iBook works fine with all the Studio MX apps).
 
It depends on circumstances. If a friends mom bakes a pizza that tastes funny, you should probably be quiet, but a company trying to lure you into using their pay services and into clicking their advertizers' links is not well served by not being crticised strongly.

There's also the little issue of having to get all new software.

Someday I will get my Mac. When I got my first computer I looked at Macs first. They were twice as much as a comparable PC. Although I really wanted one I just couldn't spend that much.

I expect delivery of an XP driven notebook tomorrow and if it's anyting like NT, which I understand it is, I should be happy. I have NT at work and in three years this thing has crashed maybe two times.

That's where it helps to be a student. ;) In all, for Studio MX and Office v.X, I paid $400 (versus around $1,400 at full price :eek:). Get your son to buy the software for you! :D

I think you have to be able to talk to buy stuff. But hey, anything's worth a try. I can claim he has a grown hormone disorder and he's really 16.

Heh heh. There are schooling requirement though-- being in high school, college, school staff, etc. It all depends on the company.

But anyway, good luck when you *eventually* get your Mac :)... the new G5s might be much more inexpensive several years down the road.
