Oil change doesn't increase power on new cars.

Lets face it, any car that you buy in real life comes already broken down from the factory. No new car in real life can increase power by almost 10% only by changin the oil.
So, cars in GT should come with 100% of its power by default, loose some power by millage, and recover it after an oil change.

This will also help wiht car regulations in online multiple car events and turnaments cause it's difficult to regulate the cars when some people can buy a new one for every round to increase power during the races, while others with a diferent car could have disadvantage on this.

Experienced online racers will understand this better ;)

Oil change shoulden't increase power on new or used car. oil change should be removed.

In real life an oil change using superior quality oil does indeed increase power on both new and used cars. If the new oil has better anti-friction, lubricating and cooling properties, it will indeed increase power, torque, economy and even engine life. So my question to you is, where is the basis for your opinion?

its not about being real or not, the problem is about having competitive grids, imagine one-make races, its not good when all cars have diferent horse power. if changing oil increases cars power above whats announced at dealership, a one-make grid with 10 cars might have 10 diferent power numbers.its a des/advantage

I've always seen the oil change "trick" as a little easter egg or small cheap tip that made a lot of effect when first starting the game back in GT3 andd GT4. With GT5 and GT6 however, changing the oil on a new car has become so common that it just doesn't feel the same anymore.

I don't want the feature to be removed, rather, I would it to be enhanced. Maybe have different oil selections? Different prices? Different outcomes? Maybe have one for sprint races and others for endurance?

I'm sure that's the case for LMP and various other race cars, too.

In no way does that sound like that would add even more hassle to a game with far too much of it as is.

Same Hp boosts, different durations, different prices, why not. The problem is we will always get the most long one.

Different boosts will make more gameplay problems. That could be solved with "factory oil".

e.g. you buy a car.
Go to the oil shop, different options.

Short factory oil - last 400km - same oil boost as stock - 10cr
Long factory oil - last 1600km - same oil boost as stock - 25cr

Short sport oil - last 200km - 50% HP boost - 100cr
Long sport oil - last 800km - 50% HP boost - 250cr

Short race oil - last 100km - 100% HP boost - 1000cr
Long race oil - last 400km - 100% HP boost - 5000cr

Short drag oil - last 50km - 125% HP boost - 10000cr
Long drag oil - last 200km - 125% HP boost - 50000cr

+ write somewhere what kind of oil you've got.

Then you could go from short race oil to factory short back for some tuning competitions or online racing events.

It may be realistic, but from a gameplay point of view, it's just cumbersome.

The problem is that the oil change is so cheap and so effective for its price that it feels almost obligatory to change the oil on a new car right away. This requires you to go through another set of menus, which is just inefficient. =/ Instead, the new car should come with new oil of the same type that the GT Auto guys put in.

That said, I can understand having to buy new oil and overhaul the engine on a car that you use a lot. -That- isn't cumbersome because you don't have to do it so often.

As for competetive online races, I think engine and oil condition should be ignored (optionally) to make it more fair. i.e., just treat every car as having oil and an engine in the same "good" condition.

If the factory oil is not very good and you trow in some high end super anti-friction stuff you could increase 1% - 2% of power... but not a ridiculus 10% like in GT6 and GT5!!

A uniform 10% increase no matter the car is dumb enough. Oil that doubles your horsepower simply is not a thing.
I was speaking about a default oil boost. Say +5%, 125% of +5% makes 12.5%. Number given here at just to make an idea nothing else.

I've been trying to buy some of that special GT Auto oil for my real life car. It should turn it into a dragster.
Can't seem to find the stuff anywhere! Probably all sold out.
