I would have thought someone would have asked this question already but I couldn't find it. So if ya do an oil change on a brand new premium car does it give you more hp like in gt3? I know the used ones will but I didn't see anything about premiums.

All cars did this in GT4 also. It's always worth giving a new car an oil change before you have driven it, as the power will increase by a small percentage. I doubt its restricted to just premiums.

The new cars don't have mileage so their oil is clean, no?
Don't see why they'd gain bhp.
I don't know the reason. It didn't make sense to me in gt3 but it worked. It gave you like 10 extra hp if you changed it before driving. I just got the game a few hours ago and totally forgot to try it.

Yeah I thought it might be restricted to just used cars. I didn't try it when buying my new miata. Hopefully someone can confirm before I buy my next car :)

yes thats true, but for some reason if you changed your oil before you raced your new car in gt3 and gt4 the car would gain a few extra HP.

need to change the oil for the used cars always straight after you buy them as most seem to have the oil light on when you first race it. but no HP gain.

You might have to pay for the engine re-build option, then give them an oil change to get the improvement.

Yes, it seems that the immediate oil change on 0km cars gives around a 5% increase in peak power. However I haven't actually bought any premium cars yet, but have just done this on all my prize cars - both premium and standard - and got the increase on everything except the Demio from the B License. Even my McLaren stealth car went up from 642 to 673 bhp.

yes it does boost HP on premium cars

my SLS AMG stealth had 598HP now it has 628HP

The HP gain was due to the superior oil that is being put in the car. Better lube = less friction = more HP and longer engine life. A bit exagerated but that seems to be the concept. Also that oil change is $250 so must be some good oil going in there.

Oil change was the first thing I tried to do after I bought the first car. Unfortunately, I bought the Civic '97 (premium) and didn't have enough money left to buy oil =(. So I will have to try it on the next car I'll buy.

I believe you can oil change any car the first time, after that if you try again it tells you it's to early, same with engine rebuilds and body refresher. pretty awesome!!!

any car you buy brand new and give it an oil change before driving it does give your car some more horse power, just like it did in gt3.

Ah crap, I forgot about this. Guess my M3 and Miata are stuck at their normal power levels. Oh well, there's still time for the rest of them.

In kow the oil change does give a boost. I was doing rally races with my gt four, it was over the hp limit. Thought I got lucky, changed it's oil and wouldn't let me in the race now.

I bought a used skyline r33 v spec and after I oil changed it the hp went from 276 to 315 :) went up quite a bit

This would also be true in real-life, but probably not to the extent that it was true in GT4.

Replacing the engine oil (even test-mileage oil) with new, sealed oil would show a slight engine efficiency improvement.

You don't have to change the oil when you first buy the car, you can do it anytime. The new cars have nice clean oil so the HP increase is small. The used cars have burned up oil even the really low milage ones and they will get a bigger increase with an oil change. Your car will also begin to loose power as the oil gets dirty. Oil change will replace that lost power up to a point. Eventually the engine will need an overhaul to get back lost power due to engine wear.

In my case, changing the oil actually REDUCED the horsepower. What the heck?

I got a brand new Mugen Motul Civic Si Race Car '87 as a prize. After driving a race or two (4.3 kilometers driven), the car was at 233 HP. I went ahead any changed the oil, and the car got reduced to 232 HP!

Quite interesting! Maybe the stock oil was better?

Motul Oil must be better than Polyphony Digital Oil :D
