Oil change no longer necessary?

The need for oil changes in a video game is pretty silly, but the dear leader wants us to play along his way...so...ok, whatever dude.

Has this ''feature'' been patched out or am i getting a glitch?

After a 9hr Tsuckba i didn't need an oil change on my X1. Weird. Fired up a 24hr Lemans and still didn't need one after that race. HP is not dropping either.

Please feel free to flame me if this is old.👍

Weird. I just did a B spec Indy 500 and the oil was darker than my coffee. Maybe your copy of the game gave you a special synthetic blend of oil lol.

Is it your car and none one your borrowing through the share feature?

It's my car. My original X1 from bronzing the Vettel challenge. Almost 100,000kms (~60,000 miles) on it now.

Just started another 24hr. Forgot to mention that these are B-spec races i'm running.

Try running some laps in A-Spec for a while and see what happens. Maybe B-Spec doesn't cause wear anymore?

Yeah, this may be just a glitch, or KY's idea of a joke... as in ''helping'' with the credit grind after nerfing the trade system.

Will update tomorrow.

Wait wait...
You mean that if I borrow a friends car, and use his X210 for the next 24 hours rubberbanding, I do not have to spend 1 million creds to fix it up again?
Borrowed cars do not wear out?

Correct at least from what I have heard borrowed cars dont incur wear, although you cant upgrade or tune them.

That is my understanding.

I know it's stupid but what does OP mean? I've seen it in many threads but never known what it ment . Thanks. 👍

ah... i see. Wasn't aware of that myself (wondering why the other guy asked if this was a borrowed car)

Definitely not a borrowed X1, but i guess this is where the glitch is coming from.

I still need to do oil changes. Lucky you, not needing to spend that all important 250cr or so. :D

It has nothing to do with the money and everything to do with the fact that every time you buy a car you have to waste several minutes going to do an oil change. Why is there not an option to add 250 Cr. to the sale price of the car at the point of sale to include an oil change?

My x2010 kept dropping power...change the oil and back to normal....however, it was dropping more often. So, I did the engine overhaul and it is back to normal, meaning it is not losing hp after every race.

Fixing up the x2010 seems like a waste of money, I mean you'll always win reguardless of performance. Ive put 50,000 miles on mine and its still around 1480 HP with only oil changes.

Borrowed cars do lose performance.

Oil still gets dirty for me, and degrades performance.

Do the repair. You'll make the money back in less than 30 minutes with your trusty band of rubber. :)

Its amazing the little things you mis in this game, I'd never noticed the colour of the oil, on the oil change screen before.

Thanks for that. 👍

Oil changes are still absolutely necessary. When i was upgrading one of my two Audi RS6s, the power was about 890 (15 more than my r8 v10, lol). when I changed the oil, the power went up to 927(1hp less than my Zonda R).

UPDATE: Not needing an oil change after 9hr Tsuckba and 24hr LeMans was just a weird glitch. Just finished another 24hr...car needed an oil change.

moving along. nothing to see here!

Figured out when this glitches...

No need for oil change, no miles/km's accumulate, and no HP loss.

After finishing an endurance race (B-Spec) i quite often exit the race screens and then immediately exit game so i can back-up my save, in preparation for the next long haul. Restart the game and try to change oil...pfffft...not needed. Also HP has not gone down, no miles accrued.

Every time.

If i screw around after a race (doing anything else) and then check: the oil will need changing/ HP loss/ accrued mileage shows just as you would normally expect.

Pretty much useless glitch other than the weird factor.

In some cases the endurance mileage doesn't register on the car. It's almost certainly a bug/glitch/error of some kind... but look upon it kindly, especially when you think of the cost of maintaining a high-mileage X2010!

To save money on maintenance, the cars I use to grind are in a friend's garage, and I simply borrow them. If I switch to another car, and then reborrow my grinding machine, the car's exactly as it originally was. It helps if you and a friend both have GT5 and just handle this for eachother.
