ugh....i cant justify buying this now. (have to save for a real car, hopefully a 350z.) but i want it so bad.

keep in mind i have no problem buying the 70 dollar game (after shipping) its the 250 dollar steering wheel and cockpit.

The game is NOT $70 after shipping. You don't NEED a cockpit (you just need a table and a chair) and those are not the driods you are looking for....

You know, you're not one of the people who'll bust on these boards saying, "damn it you PD motherf:censored:, get off your asses and give us 'GT5: Prologue' you (insert really offensive expletive(s) here)!!!" You are impatient, just not overly vocal and hateful like most other people. You're on the Internet, but what you type and how you type it can say loud things even when you can't physically talk online. It's my "making a statement without saying anything" motto. I always say that good things come to those who wait. It's okay to feel bad that GT5:P is not here yet. Just don't get overly impatient to the point where your life DEPENDS on getting this game. In the end, it's just a game no matter how good it is.

Nice to see you got the game (according to recent posts). Bet you still want the English version, right? Or are you perfectly fine with this build?

Why do you need fast shipping? I pay around $53.

You can buy a DFP instead.

I use a broken office computer desk I got for free and a $7 folding chair. You DO realize a cockpit won't make you drive faster and no one will see your "cockpit" when you are playing online.
 
so i was going to wait to get gt5 prologue, since i dont have the money for a ps3 yet. until my cousin just texted me saying he will sell me his ps3 for 300 bucks, and the best part is i can pay 50 dollars a month, now there is no way i can wait.

has anyone ordered off ebay? think it would be a good idea? im so pumped:)
 
i have a dfp.

why would i care if others see me? hell, i would prefer no one see me playing a video game in a cockpit. im sure it looks silly sitting in a cockpit in front of the tv. and yes im aware it wont make me faster, but it will make me feel complete. i might put the cockpit and my entertainment center on a spinning platform and have someone spin and tip on the turns.

and i had a homemade cockpit that was actually a really good setup, save that i never got a chair for it. who knows where it is now. maybe burned for heat.

of course... but i saved up.. i got my racing seat.. G25 and PS3 just for this game... i play other PC racing sims that are really great.. but i just dont feel in the spirit with the cars they offer... so i guess i got lil impatient and got the Japanese version...and i love it.. it took me 5 minutes with the translation thread to get you to it.. and yes once the US version comes out i will buy it as well, because i would love to read the history about the cars and dealers. and i would love to see translation subs for the movies in GT TV.
 
you dont have to pay 20 dollars for shipping, but i hear some people really got pissed waiting lil more over 2 weeks from playasia. so i figured i would pay 20 $ and game got shipped withing 2 days.. really quick.
and racing cockpit or not does not make you go faster.. but its really cool, and you almost feel like driving if you have a nice setup :)
 
I picked up my PS3 on Tuesday and was contemplating if I should get GT5P - JP.

Try to look for the GT5:P demo on JP PSStore, hope that would help in the mean time waiting for the US version. They actually took it off already!!!! That left me no choice but to surrender to the GT5:P - JP. =D

FYI, I got my copy off ebay for $45 (5-7 days shipping included) and I live in Canada. so anyone want to grap a copy, might want to start there first before PA or JapanVideoGame.com.

If its $300 for a used 40GB, tell him to lower his price cause you can get a new 40GB for $299 shipped with a free spidy 3 BR movie and the free 5 Blue Ray disk offer. Sell all 6 Blue Ray movies on ebay and you can get Prologue for free.
 
why would u wanna sell movies? keep them, if you have a 1080, its a treat for your eyes :) and good for the collection


and i just got the R8, wow this car handles.. this with same tire setup is a lot better handling then that awful mustang

untrue. ps3 40gb is retailing for 399.99 us dollars as of today unless there is some deal i'm unaware of. when purchasing at a store, it comes out to roughly 440 dollars after tax. if your cousin's ps3 is sporting the new 65nm cell processor, i say its a descent deal. not a killer, but definately doable. beats the hell out of buying it used off a stranger for that amount since he's your cousin.

it's a 40gb. and im not sure where you seen the 40gb for 300, but i would be buying them up and reselling. i dont know, 300 for a used ps3 may be alot, but 1. he's only had it for about 2 weeks, he wants a 80gb to play ps1 and ps2 games, has all the books and papers, and 2. he is my cousin, i trust him. and you can't beat 50 bucks a month, i dont have a credit or debit card, so that rules out me making similiar payments somewhere else for a new one.

Anyways, im getting off the subject. I'm definitely getting prologue, so i'll be racing with some of you all online shortly, and dont worry, i like to race clean, i try to think of the car as my own and dont wanna smash it up.

apparently, you are wrong once again. That deal is already expired.

It was more like, 300 dollar ps3, with a Catch. Unless you can get your card paid off within the 12 months you are looking at paying a 14.49% interest on your card. I know 300 is not alot to pay off in a 12 month time frame but judging from his post, he sounds rather young and it was for people who have good or established credit report. Plus he would have paid sales tax on the full amount with $49 per year subscription fee and hold the card until 20January 2009.

so much for your deal which i was unaware of. Casey, get it from your cousin for 300 flat especially since now you've told us that he's only had it for 2 weeks.

starting with the second batch of the 40gb ps3s, sony and IBM started including the cell processor using a 65 nanometer manufacturing process as opposed to the previous 90nm. The 65nm chip result in lower power consumption, i think 33% cooler and obvuosly reduced manufactring costs for sony.

basically, when it comes down to it, it's not all that necessary since ps3 is rock solid and doesn't have xbox360's RROD issue but it's really nice to know when you know your ps3 is running considerably cooler and quieter. They modified the vent system and now use a weaker quieter fan inside the console.

so i still have the 90nm whenever i watch a bluray movie the console is cool, but when i play a game it becomes warm on one end... i keep my PS3 horizontally but i never had issues with over heat or anything like that.. but my bro's 360 is always hot.. i think soon its going to go bye bye.. even watching movies on that thing it becomes HOT and damn LOUD...

but anyways..
i remember when i got my PS3 one year ago. started to snow fore a week or so a week before my birth day and i started to shovel snow for the neighbors on a old street i use to live in... lots of elderly people there so they were paying me lots and enough to get me a brand new 60 BG model along with a resistance game and an extra controller ;)... and still had money left over for gas to my car.. it was a nice B-day present for myself. so shovel up some snow.. be a wise business man and in less then a week youll be PS3 rich.

We all know my advice is more sound as yours requires signing up for credit card not to mention 8 to 10 weeks waiting time to actually receive the credit. And he may not even have the proper credit history to even be aprovede. Besides he already made up his mind on buying it from his cousin which he will most likely have access to the ps3 right away without having to wait for it. you and i both know he's better off buying the 2 weeks old ps3 off his cousin for 300. case closed.

A) I did not give him any "advice" of what to buy, he "asked" me to show him the deal, and I did. I am just the messenger. Go read the post yourself. 👍
