Ive never really been into drifting but im keen to learn. Firstly, am i right in thinking you don't HAVE to use handbrake to drift.

What are the best drivetrains for drifting? Im used to driving FRs and i struggle with 4WDs

Can someone just give a brief instruction on what i should be doing (basic) so i can go off and practice?

I dont drive in real life and i never use handbrake in racing games but im a good enough driver to do most races without needing to drift, but if everyone else is doing it i should probably at least learn how so im not at as much of a disadvantage

thanks guys :)

Good place to start from would be to watch Keiichi Tsuchiya's Drift Bible, you can find it on youtube, all the things he talks about there apply in the game.

Just Get a rear wheel drive car not to fast but not slow either. Just before you wanna drift upset the back of the car. The hardest part is getting acceleration and steering just right once you have got used to the car you will be ok. A turbo honda s2000 (Not fully tuned) should be ok to start off in.

I have a Lambo Miura 67 which seems to drift naturally cus ive fully tuned it apart from body rigidity and so the back end flies round each corner producing loads of smoke - does that sound like a good one to try in also? i think its an FR model

thanks m8 ill check it out :)

Try buying a s13 silvia premuim k series fit these upgrades- mid range turbo, sports soft, ecu upgrade is a good place to start IMO. I normally just try to upset there rear end, and balance the throttle and steering but I am not very good so take that as you please.

Depends id normally start of with something slowish e.g the car i use now for drifting is a 1990 mazda rx7 with engine chip, upgraded exhaust, turbo, lsd and lightend prob round about 250Bhp 900kg that holds drifts easily.

Im in the same boat as the OP. I just keep spinning out when i try to drift.
using the wheel, and a AEM S2000 (no mods, besides what it came with)

If you spin out, try to slowly ease onto the gas or flutter it. As far as steering, counter steer accordingly to your throttling.
