Hey guys,

i need help in trying to find a steering wheel. what would you guys recommend?
maximum is about 250 Australian (which is about 300 US give or take 10 bucks)

Good H-shifter is a must
Sequential shifter would be nice but i wouldn't care if it wasn't there
i would also like a paddle shifter

Good, sturdy clamps (or whatever the wheel uses) that make the wheel sturdy, because i don't see myself buying a cockpit in the next year ( i want to get used to a wheel and see if i like it)

Good durability(obviously)

Actually you went the wrong way in you conversion.

250 AUD is about 228 USD.

A G25 is probably going to be your only option in that price range.

FACEPALM. I must've worked it out the other way around lol.

Also, i lied. i have 600 dollars. 300 US (from relatives as a gift) and 300 Australian

Then you want a G27. :)

Or a Fanatec Porsche Wheel, though I don't know if those were ever available in AU.

Technically, they don't ship to Australia. But after rummaging around on ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FANATEC-PORSCHE-911-TURBO-STEERING-WHEEL-PC-PS3-G25_W0QQitemZ110512768538QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Video_Game_Accessories?hash=item19bb13061a#ht_5559wt_1165

All the g25's on ebay are used. the cheapest g27's would still be around $400 (if i'm lucky)

But i don't think the 911 turbo wheel has paddle shifters (correct me if i'm wrong)
And how much better is the 911 turbo s wheel than the 911 turbo wheel?

The 911 turbo and turbo s doesn't have paddle shifter, they have button shifter like the DFGT. The GT3 RS and Carrera have paddles though.
Seems like the only major difference between the turbo and turbo S is the Tubo S can be used for XBOX 360, PC and PS3, where as the Turbo is PC/PS3 only.

:odd:

I have the Turbo S, and it definitely does have paddle shifters.

The paddles are small, but they are indeed there.

I don't know about the Turbo, since I have no experience with it, but I highly recommend the Turbo S. It is an amazing wheel, with some great system compatibility.

Turbo is old wheel, do not buy it. Fanatec was learning when making that(not bad but why buy because there is better now)

I'd very much reccomend a G27. Try to do what I did if you can't get one where you live: Buy one online and make it ship to somewhere, then ask for someone you know lives there and is traveling soon to take it, there are also companies that receive cargo in certain countries and then send them to your residence. I live in Colombia, bought my wheel in Amazon.com (US), made it ship to the residence of a friend of my mom and she then brought the wheel here.

haha lol. My mother is in America atm, so i'll see what can i do. If she has space in her suitcases (i doubt it) i'll ask her to bring it with her. If not, i'll just tell her to ship it

Quick question. Would an American G27 work in Australia? If it does work, what store is selling it cheapest atm? My relatives (and my mother on holiday) are in California (San Jose).

Oh and could someone give me the dimensions of the box?
