Just felt it was my duty to inform the GTP crowd that you can now (spec 2.0) adjust the gear ratio of the Gran Turismo PDI Racing kart 100 to increase the top speed from ~87mph to over 100mph.

I decided to look around for events that the kart’s weight, performance points, and tires would meet. Sure enough the Supercar Festival regulations of 700 performance points, no weight or tire restrictions allow your kart to race against cars!

Granted, my attempt to race the Eifel Circuit Event against Ferraris, Dodge Vipers, and a very quick McLaren F1 didn’t go so well. I found you can beat a ‘99 V8 Vantage over the five lap race!
Note: Cars become very scary when they try to pass your kart!

My Test Cart Settings
1st Gear 0.806
Final Gear 4.801
Speed 106mph
Max Speed 96mph-104mph depending on drafting & hills :)
Ring time 9:09.507*

*I hit grass once from a bump around a section I think is called Eschbach. A lower time is possible.

Here is the Vantage frantically breaking after a mid-speed section on lap 1

Cannot wait to tune the new karts in the DLC on the 25th. Good driving!
 
Awesome. I want to take the kart to the truck race.
 
It's been possible since the very first major update to the game back in January or February. Only when the game was first released was it not possible to change gear ratio.
 
you have been able to adjust gear ratios for awhile now, ever since the PP system i believe. Maybe not as high as you can now, but it's nothing new.

Now the racing against cars, that's too funny.

One thing I noticed is, the Kart used to be 516PP, now it is only 466PP
 
Like five people just said the same thing, seriously. This is awesome though, I entered a kart in the Supercar Festival by accident once :ouch:
 
The other day I tried the Compact Car seasonal event, or whatever the one with the maximum car length is called, on the last track. Won that pretty easily, but it was great fun! I don't think it will win at the tracks with long straights though!

Those pics are pretty funny looking. Gave me a good laugh.
 
My mistake for thinking the kart transmission couldn’t be tuned until recently. Also 👍 Penske1 for pointing me toward the Compact Car Seasonal Events.

I decided to win all of the compact car seasonal events with the kart by adding 31kg of ballast. Sort of unfair due to the sports soft vs. sports hard tires, but it was still a moderate challenge. Here are more pictures from my racing efforts.

Poor Aston, the old decrepit and slow thing has been beat up by GTP since the first Remote B spec races

I, like someone else, didn't even know you could race a kart against cars. I hope it's fun for me.
